Job description

Job Summary

This individual will be involved with the financial reporting and consolidation, forecasting and budgeting and analysis and therefore requires a solid understanding of financial budgeting, reporting, policies and procedures and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). This position necessitates the ability to work independently as well as with a team and possess the ability to successfully manage several assignments simultaneously.

Responsibilities include analyzing and reviewing data to provide accurate and timely information for strategic and operational decisions. Is responsible for managing and uploading monthly close and R&O submissions as well as compiling, tracking and reviewing monthly reporting requirements to the Corporate Finance team. Gathers, analyzes, prepares and summarizes recommendations.

What you will do
  • Participate in the annual budget process including building and maintaining submission templates and working with the local businesses to submit detailed financial projections and review year-over-year variances for reasonableness.  
  • Update and maintain all monthly HFM and Planning reports used to analyze the financial results of the portfolio.  Create and load monthly journal entries and prepare account reconciliations analyzing account activity and balances for appropriateness.
  • Create, maintain and distribute all electronic financial reports and P&L binders.
  • Prepare monthly reports to summarize travel expenses and provide insight into key variances by individual and account as well as identify trends that could result in cost overruns or potential expense savings opportunities. 
  • Partner with the Corporate Accounting and the Corporate Planning teams to identify, design and implement potential system changes resulting from new acquisitions or reorganizations.
  • Work with the Associate Manager of Finance to assist with financial reporting and planning.
  • Responsible for maintaining the financial calendars of the group as well as proposing new due dates for subsidiary businesses based on changes to the Corporate calendar and assisting in the preparation of monthly and quarterly financial presentations.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with finance team members within the portfolio and as well as throughout the Henry Schein corporate organization.
Travel/Physical Demands
  • Travel typically less than 10%. Office environment. No special physical demands required.  
Qualifications

Must have:
  • Typically 2 to 4 years of related professional experience.
  • Typically a Bachelor's Degree or global equivalent in related discipline.
  • Basic understanding of industry practices
  • General proficiency with tools, systems, and procedures
  • Basic planning/organizational skills and techniques
  • Good decision making, analysis and problem solving skills
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Basic presentation and public speaking skills
  • Basic interpersonal skills
  • Developing professional credibility
Nice to have:

The posted range for this position is $40,000 - $50,000 which is the expected starting base salary range for an employee who is new to the role to fully proficient in the role. Many factors go into determining employee pay within the posted range including prior experience, current skills, location/labor market, internal equity, etc. This position is eligible for a target bonus not reflected in the posted range.
