THE ROLE: Director, Project Management – Digital
Job Summary:
As an internal Director, Project Management – Digital, you will provide oversight and guidance to team of agile project managers and scrum masters. For all projects, the focus is on customer satisfaction, project profitability, service delivery, and professional excellence. The Director will strategically partner with engineering, sales, outside partners, and customers to successfully deliver and complete service projects and build long term relationships that will help the practice scale for the future.
Travel Requirements:
This is a remote role. In this role you will be expected to travel up to 10-20%.
Job Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of Project Managers / Scrum Masters that drive Digital projects comprising of global teams in AppDev, Data and DevOps for our clients in the Healthcare, Financial Services, Retail, State and Local Government, Utilities, and other various industries.
- Support project management and technical teams working with the latest cutting-edge technologies in the cloud native application development, DevOps, Big Data/Analytics, and Cloud Migration spaces.
- Support large software development team delivering new builds of applications in Java, Node.JS, .NET/C#, Angular.JS, React.JS, Vue.JS, Python and more.
- Overall oversight of all projects in assigned practice including proactive management of customer satisfaction, project profitability, billable utilization, and project management delivery quality.
- Serve as a critical liaison between sales, business development, solutions architecture, engineering practice leaders and client stakeholders to drive consistent business value for our customers and support the overall business goals and strategy of Presidio.
- Maintain and review workload and delivery progress including analysis of pipeline, team utilization and assignment, project hours, milestone states, and other project maintenance information.
- Ensure all project milestones related to region(s) are closed out in a timely manner to ensure revenue and cash flow.
- Ensure team is delivering at a high standard and executing project management and scrum practices efficiently and effectively.
- Solicit feedback from customers and team on project health and opportunities for improvement.
- Support team with escalations through resolution of any risks and issues.
- Work specifically with sales and engineering teams on key accounts to develop strategies and discuss open opportunities.
- Actively involved in large proposals and RFP responses in the practice.
- Participate in Quarterly Business Reviews to discuss the status of business objectives and future goals and initiatives.
- Create and maintain documentation on standard processes and procedures specific to Digital projects and support the development and maintenance of processes and procedures for the PMO and other teams as needed.
- Ensure compliance of company policies, procedures, and objectives regarding processes, initiatives, and projects.
- Oversee annual performance review process for team members using individual development plans and goal setting techniques.
- Develop team through regular performance discussions that include continued learning, professional development objectives, and ways for participation in supporting the PMO team (all agreed upon with the individual).
- Conduct meetings with assigned employees encouraging an open dialogue discussing assigned projects, performance, professional development, knowledge sharing, mentorship opportunities, and other topics as needed.
- Interview and onboard project management candidates based on business objectives of the overall staffing plan.
- Engages team in various team building opportunities throughout the year.
Required Skills:
- Demonstrable skills across project management standard methodologies (Project Management Institute defined), Agile, Scrum, Kanban, Waterfall).
- Understands the software development lifecycle, Agile / Scrum processes, technical project delivery, and cloud technologies.
- Expert in Confluence, Jira, Azure DevOps and Microsoft Project for project execution.
- Familiarity with Smartsheet, Trello, Teamwork, Zoho and similar project management toolsets to manage project tracking, key performance indicators, project budget, resources, and timelines.
- Understands cloud technologies across multiple Hyperscalers such as Amazon Web Services, Azure, or Google Cloud and how applications are developed and deployed to them for clients.
- Strong people management skills consisting of motivating, developing, coaching, directing, and identifying the best people for the job.
- Strong time management, analytical, communication, thought leadership, team building, motivational and customer service skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, including strong presentation, negotiation skills, and relationship building skills.
- Experience working with the Microsoft Office suite of tools (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and SharePoint).
- Ability to travel.

- Proficiency in the English language and reading comprehension.
- PMP or similar professional certification preferred
- CSM or similar professional certification preferred
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree or the equivalent work experience and/or military experience
- 10+ years of experience in IT project management, management, and general IT consulting.
- Experience leading projects which leverage Amazon Web Services, Azure, or Google Cloud technologies.
