About the role
The role of a Training and Implementation Specialist is directly responsible for strategically training doctors, technicians, and office staff. Training includes, but is not limited to, practical navigational skills to efficiently use the designated EHR and other software, related billing and coding support, EHR remediation and retraining, and other tasks as assigned by the Clinical Excellence Program Manager and Vice President, Clinical Excellence. Additional skills trained by this position include improving the overall flow and technique of the practice from technician work-up to doctor transfer of trust. and encouraging a positive work environment that supports our MyEyeDr. culture. Reporting directly to the Clinical Excellence Program Manager.
This is a hybrid remote role, offering a flexible work arrangement out of either our Raleigh, NC or Vienna, VA offices.
You Will
- Train Eyefinity EHR and other company software programs to office staff and/or Doctors
- Support and/or review proper billing and coding as it relates to Eyefinity EHR and other company software
- Remediation of EHR training as needed
- Create/Update training content (i.e., videos, PDFs, SOPs, etc.) that reflect new system and/or company policy changes
- Explore and test upcoming EMR release updates and report on any potential issues
- Coordinate and communicate strategic plans of EHR integration for assigned office(s)
- Facilitate webinar-based training during and/or after office hours
- Assist IT and other related departments to facilitate equipment integrations
- Partner with IT to communicate and investigate system issues impacting patient care
- Identify and communicate office strengths and challenges after each implementation
- Ensure office technicians/staff maintain an acceptable patient/office flow
- Pre-test/work-up patients and/or scribe to maintain office flow as needed
- Educate or enhance the verbiage and technique used to capture retinal imaging
About You
- Minimum of 2 years employed as an Optometric or Ophthalmic Technician and/or Scribe
- Completion of Tech Level 1 and 2 programs or equivalent
- Minimum of 1 year experience using Eyefinity EHR in a high-volume office (with a reasonable amount of medical office encounters)
- Previous experience training new technicians and new users to the EHR is a must
- Undergraduate degree in related field is strongly preferred
- Sustain a high retinal image capture rate in current office
- Possess the highest level of technical skill for patient workups/pretests and equipment
- Demonstrate a high level of critical thinking with the ability to resolve conflict or challenges
- Ability to create unique training techniques conducive to varied learning styles
- Ability to collaborate with team members by sharing ideas and techniques
- May require some travel to MED locations as needed
- Efficiently complete routine workups in 10 minutes or less
