KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategy Development:

·        Develop and implement a comprehensive financial communications strategy to effectively convey the company’s financial performance, growth strategy, and business outlook.

·        Partner with Investor Relations to align messaging for earnings calls, investor conferences, and other financial events.

·        Ensure alignment of financial messaging with broader corporate communications and brand strategy.

Stakeholder Engagement:

·        Build and maintain relationships with key financial stakeholders, including investors, analysts, and financial media.

·        Serve as a primary or supporting spokesperson for financial communications.

·        Monitor and address market perceptions, trends, and feedback from financial stakeholders.

Content Development:

·        Draft and edit high-impact financial communications materials, including earnings releases, investor presentations, Q&A documents, financial press releases, and scripts for senior executives.

·        Collaborate with internal teams to create compelling narratives around business performance, financial results, and corporate milestones.

·        Manage the review and approval process for financial communication materials, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and clarity.

Media Relations:

·        Build and maintain strong relationships with financial journalists and key media outlets.

·        Proactively identify and secure media opportunities to highlight the company’s financial performance and strategy.

·        Prepare executives for media interviews, ensuring key financial messages are effectively communicated.

Collaboration and Cross-Functional Support:

·        Work closely with the corporate communications team to align financial messaging with broader corporate narratives and reputational priorities.

·        Partner with legal and compliance teams to ensure all financial communications adhere to regulatory requirements.

·        Provide strategic counsel to senior executives on financial communication strategies and issues.

Crisis and Issues Management:

·        Support the development and execution of financial communications during crises or significant corporate events, such as M&A, earnings surprises, or regulatory issues ensuring timely, transparent, and empathetic communication to financial stakeholder audiences.

·        Serve as a key member of the cross-functional crisis communications team, providing financial messaging expertise.

·        Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, providing counsel on sensitive situations that could impact the company’s external image.

Sustainability Communications

·        Partner with the company’s sustainability and corporate communications teams to define the narrative, ensuring alignment with business goals and commitment to corporate social responsibility.

·        Work with cross-functional teams to develop external messaging around environmental impact, sustainable practices, and community engagement efforts.

·        Communicate the company’s sustainability story, achievements, and other initiatives with financial stakeholders.

·        Gather and share feedback from financial stakeholders regarding their sustainability and ESG goals and how they may impact or affect their assessment of the company.

Your Skills and Expertise 
 

To set you up for success in this role from day one, Solventum requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, Public Relations, Finance, or a related field and 10 years of experience in financial communications, investor relations, or corporate communications, with a focus on financial stakeholders

OR

  • High School Diploma/GED from an accredited institution and 14 years of experience in financial communications, investor relations, or corporate communications, with a focus on financial stakeholders

  • Experience in a publicly traded company or agency supporting public company clients.

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

  • MBA or advanced degree preferred.

  • Strong analytical skills to interpret market feedback and translate it into actionable insights.

  • Exceptional writing and editing skills, with a proven ability to simplify complex financial concepts for various audiences.

  • Strong understanding of financial markets, corporate finance, and public company reporting requirements.

  • Proven experience managing relationships with investors, analysts, and financial media.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment with competing priorities.

  • Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of an organization

Applicable to US Applicants Only:The expected compensation range for this position is $207,348 - $253,425, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s relevant knowledge, training, skills, work location, and/or experience. In addition, this position may be eligible for a range of benefits (e.g., Medical, Dental & Vision, Health Savings Accounts, Health Care & Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts, Disability Benefits, Life Insurance, Voluntary Benefits, Paid Absences and Retirement Benefits, etc.).
