Job description

What we are looking for:

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Test Automation Engineer with a strong background in Software Quality Assurance to contribute to designing, developing, and executing automated and manual testing solutions for a variety of GUI and API-driven applications. The ideal candidate will have exceptional programming expertise, robust knowledge of testing methodologies, and the ability to adapt quickly to a multi-cultural and dynamic environment.

Position Overview:

Role: Test Automation Engineer
Industry: IT/Software Development
Employment Type: Contract
Duration: Initial contract up to 160 working days on a full-time basis, with potential extensions of up to 280 additional working days.
Location: Remote (1 week onboarding in Hague)
Start Date: 24/02/2025 (flexibility for a later start date, but no later than 28/04/2025).
Application Deadline: 5.2.2025.
Work Authorization: Due to legal requirements, this role is open only to candidates legally allowed to work in the European Union.

Key Responsibilities:

Define test cases and report on test results.
Design, code, and execute automated GUI tests using Selenium WebDriver with C# unit tests.
Develop and execute functional automated API tests on REST services using C# and RestSharp.
Create and execute manual test scenarios and scripts for cases not suited for automation.
Identify and re-test defects, and provide comprehensive reporting.
Support the creation and execution of test plans.
Assist in user acceptance testing activities.

Experience and Background:

Education: University degree in a relevant field (Bachelor/Master) completed no later than January 2014/January 2015.

Professional Experience:
Over 6 years of experience in Software Quality Assurance as a Test Analyst or Test Automation Engineer.
Participation in at least three projects involving GUI and API testing.

Professional Knowledge:
Proficiency in C# or Java for test automation, object-oriented techniques, design patterns, and best practices.
Strong knowledge of Git, including workflows and pull requests.
Expertise in manual and automated regression testing at UI and API levels using tools like RestAssured, RestSharp, and WebDriver.
Familiarity with BDD methodology and tools such as Specflow or Cucumber.
Hands-on experience with DevOps practices, including continuous testing and CI/CD pipelines.
Competency in system and acceptance testing using dynamic, static, and experience-based techniques.
