Role Summary
The Senior Tax Manager of Transfer Pricing and Tax Planning will be a leader in the Sophos tax and finance team and will manage the transfer pricing function. The role would suit someone that thinks strategically while also being able to manage tactical details. You will need to effectively manage ambiguity and create efficient, repeatable processes. The role requires someone with deep transfer pricing and international tax skills that is highly engaged. You will be the tax liaison for senior business leaders and will manage complex tax and business issues. This role will report to the Vice President of Global Tax. This role will manage external tax service providers.
What you will doResponsible for delivering transfer pricing and direct tax planning while collaborating with internal and external partnersTransfer Pricing:Develop transfer pricing strategies, policies, and procedures Ensures the Company complies with transfer pricing regulations across the world in a timely mannerPrepare operational transfer pricing calculations ensuring all calculations are properly recorded on a monthly and annual basisReview transfer pricing documentation including master file, local files and CbCR reporting Manage the process for the creation of new intercompany agreements Monitor and respond to changes in transfer pricing rules and advise management on impacts to the CompanyManage external tax service providers in the preparation of documentation and transfer pricing adviceInternational Tax:Partner with business leaders in sales, legal, accounting, and treasury on key company initiatives as well as day-to-day issuesImplement international tax optimization planning related to the Company’s tax structure and international expansionManage issues including withholding tax, DST, permanent establishment, cash repatriation, and controlled foreign corporation rulesMonitor and develop responses to international tax legislation changes (including OECD guidelines) impacting the CompanyProvision:Create country level forecasted P&L for US GAAP and IFRS filingsControversy:Support the technical aspects of global transfer pricing controversy including audits, appeals, court cases and MAP What you will bringDeep transfer pricing knowledge requiredExtremely strong interpersonal and communication skills with the demonstrated ability to influence business partners with varying backgrounds and experience levels, and manage cross functional projectsAbility to quickly integrate business objectives and tax strategies and then communicate tax consequences to managementProven ability to identify, evaluate and mitigate tax riskSolid business acumen and an understanding of business and profit driversExcellent organizational, communication and writing skillsExperience in operating in a fast-paced environment with the proven ability to drive change10+ years of relevant experience with a CPA or law firm and/or corporate tax departmentChartered Accountant or Master's degree in economics preferredExperience in technology industry a plus#LI-Remote
