POSITION SUMMARY:
This role is responsible for corn product evaluation, selection, deployment, management, and training for the assigned territory. This individual will be responsible for overseeing the northern half of Minnesota, all of North Dakota, and a portion of South Dakota.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Manage and evaluate Pre-Commercial Research (PCR) trials, seed treatment, and other experimental or product marketing trials as needed with 95% emphasis on corn, 5% soybeans
- Define and execute testing strategies and summarize results to characterize products for promotion to PCR and experimental trials in collaboration with AgReliant hybrid product breeders
- Utilize product needs assessments from the AgReliant brands and research for selection, advancement, and deployment of products to strategic sales avenues.
- Collect product characteristics and trial conditions throughout the growing season in a timely manner, ensuring regular reporting and clear communication
- Responsible for the technical evaluation of new products and lead the development of product profiles and reports used by Brand Product Managers for marketing
- Learn and utilize Internal Databases and Programs
- Drive product demand by leveraging technical leadership and strategic positioning with the Brand Product Managers, Agronomy and Sales Organizations
- Coordinate and participate in PCR plot tours in region
- Be knowledgeable about the experimental hybrid characteristics and their inbred components and characteristics
- Responsible for projecting a positive image of the Product Development Team and AgReliant Genetics maintaining the highest level of confidentiality, customer service and professionalism
- Other duties as assigned
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in agronomy or related field desired, master’s degree and CCA preferred
- Minimum of 5 years previous experience preferred
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
- Excellent organizational and record keeping skills
- Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills required
- Excellent presentation skills required
- Ability to plan and prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Experience with MS Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint preferred) and common PC-based software
PHYSICAL/OTHER DEMANDS:
- Ability to work required hours
- Ability to work in the field and office as required
- Some overnight travel required, up to 30%
- Ability to lift up to 60 lbs.
- Must have valid driver’s license and meet MVR Requirements
