Key Capture Energy is a team of experienced clean energy experts who have grown some of the world's largest renewable energy companies. With a focus on meeting the needs of the electric grid, and working closely with all local stakeholders, Key Capture Energy is focused on developing projects throughout the eastern United States.
POSITION PURPOSE: This is a temporary, non-exempt paid position that will be reporting to the Compliance Manager. As a Compliance Intern, you will support the development, implementation, and management of compliance programs across the organization. This includes assisting in monitoring regulatory requirements, maintaining compliance documentation, and contributing to the team's efforts in ensuring adherence to North American Electric Reliability Corporation ("NERC") standards, as well as other state and federal obligations. The intern will have the opportunity to learn from experienced compliance professionals, attend training sessions, and present work at the end of the term.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Program Development Support: Assist in developing, updating, and maintaining policies, procedures, and templates to support the company's compliance programs.
Documentation and Monitoring: Support the creation and management of compliance documentation and tracking tools, including maintaining calendars to monitor deadlines for regulatory filings and compliance activities
Collaboration: Work closely with the Compliance Manager and cross-functional teams, such as IT Operations, Development, and Engineering & Construction, to ensure compliance standards are integrated into company workflows.
Research and Analysis: Conduct research on regulatory processes and proposed changes, including NERC standard developments, and provide summaries to the team. Review of compliance documentation for quality assurance.
Risk Identification: Assist in identifying and documenting compliance risks across different practices, regulatory requirements, and best practices in the energy industry.
Training and Learning: Attend training sessions and gain exposure to compliance management practices, regulatory requirements, and best practices in the energy industry.
Presentation: Prepare and deliver a presentation summarizing your contributions and learnings to the team at the end of internship.

WORK EXPERIENCE & REQUIREMENTS:
0-2 years of energy industry or analytical experience
Pursuing degree in law, compliance, regulatory studies, or a related field
Strong research, analytical, and organizational skills
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
