The Impact You Will Make Here
  • Lead Incident Management and Operational Excellence: Overhaul the incident management process and drive continuous improvement to ensure high standards of reliability and performance.

  • Drive Business-Critical Outcomes: Define and measure key performance metrics, such as SLAs and Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF), using those metrics to identify trends and measure the impact on the business.

  • Refine and Document Processes: Develop and maintain up-to-date operational procedures, including runbooks, to adapt to evolving needs.

  • Proactively Manage Risks and Failures: Anticipate system failures through practices like chaos engineering and tabletop exercises, and establish processes to learn from operational incidents.

  • Build a Collaborative Culture: Foster strong relationships within the team and across departments while cultivating a communicative, supportive, and results-oriented culture.

  • Be a Foundational Leader: Shape the direction and long-term impact of the team as a critical pillar of TCGPlayer’s technical operations.

What You Bring to the Team
  • A bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent experience; advanced degree or certifications are a plus.

  • 5 years of experience in system administration, infrastructure engineering, or similar roles.

  • At least 2 years of management experience, with a proven track record of building and leading successful teams.

  • Experience with Windows and Linux environments, including scripting (PowerShell, Python) and entry-level database management (e.g., Microsoft SQL Server).

  • Knowledge of cloud platforms, particularly AWS, at an entry to intermediate level.

  • Experience with containerization technologies including Kubernetes.

  • Familiarity with software engineering principles and practices.
