Assist clients with a multitude of environmental remediation and compliance task orders through use of technical expertise and background in the environmental field. Coordinate with the project team and clients to execute field work, technical review of documents, and prepare plans to ensure environmental compliance for the federal government.
Compensation & Benefits:
Estimated Starting Salary Range for Environmental Scientist II: $75,000.00+
Pay commensurate with experience.

Environmental Scientist II Responsibilities Include:
Performs field surveys of stormwater infrastructure through use of GPS equipment.
Performs sample preparation & collection, and chain-of-custody protocols.
Maintains detailed field logbook entries for all field work activities.
Perform reviews, updates, and development of environmental compliance plans (ECPs), baseline surveys, technical memorandums, project reports, and other relevant documents.
Maintain task order deadlines for deliverables, as assigned by the PM or Task Order Lead.
Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Environmental Scientist II Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:
B.S. in environmental discipline, and M.S. Chemistry and/or Environmental Science preferred.
Related field experience of 6+ years in private consulting and/or state/federal agencies.
Requires 40 Hour Hazardous Waste Operations training and 8-hour HAZWOPER Refresher Course.
Understanding of state/federal environmental regulations.
Ability to develop field schedule and timelines for conducting field activities.
Perform laboratory QA/QC, chemical data interpretation, data reduction.
Thorough understanding of environmental sampling procedures & protocols.
Thorough understanding of Microsoft (Excel, Access & Word) for reports and databases.
Basic understanding of hydrogeology and geology.
Possess basic math & statistical skills.
Possess technical writing skills and analytical reasoning ability
Understanding of GIS (ArcMap) and ability to understand, utilize, and prepare maps.
Understanding of health and safety protocols and ability to maintain relevant certifications and trainings.
Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal.
