What You'll Do

The 1099 Product Sales Executive will drive incremental bookings for our 1099 and w9 products across the new and existing business sales organizations. As a 1099 Product Sales Executive you will serve as a subject matter expert (SME) for 1099 and w9 products and be tightly aligned to general manager initiatives You will be the go-to for opportunity creation channels, ensuring proper training and enablement to drive pipeline creations.

Because you have expertise in the 1099 and w9 tax market, you will help identify how we better enable our ADR/SDR/CDM teams as well as other partners to better understand non-core products and services with the goal of increasing add on product sales, average sale price (ASP), and customer success and then execute those strategies. Reporting to the Senior Director - Global Marketplace - 1099 Product Sales Executive will be tightly aligned with product GM's, Product Solution Consultants, and sales leadership.

Qualifications

  • Experience in the 1099 and w9 tax market and the associated tax compliance challenges
  • Bachelor's degree (B.S. or B.A.) from an accredited college or university, or equivalent career experience.
  • 5+ year's experience as a B2B Sales Professional (SaaS preferred).
  • Record of achieving performance goals including quotas, revenue targets, accurate forecasting, or other goals.
  • Skillset to identify trends and gaps in production reports to guide action plans.
  • Efficient work habits & prioritize activities aligned to business impact.
  • Experience teaching/mentoring others to achieve shared success.


What Your Responsibilities Will Be

  • Develop plans and presentations to deliver on strategic product budget targets, including how to increase the product knowledge and acumen of sales teams.
  • Create & maintain regular bookings forecasts and report out on bookings performance to leadership.
  • Work across the New and Existing Business segments to assist in driving revenue for your designated products(s).
  • Be the subject matter expert for the product(s) of responsibility; to include building deep levels of product knowledge, customer domain knowledge and industry knowledge.
  • Provide guidance on way to generate additional opportunities through targeted outreach and pipeline hygiene leveraging sequences.
  • Help drive top of funnel channels by helping understand prospects/customers' business environment and provide valuable actionable recommendations to drive product attachment and end to end solutions.
  • Work in a team environment with multiple internal teams to solve problems and deliver results.


What You'll Need to be Successful

  • Represent the ‘Voice of the Customer', surfacing key product and business insights to help drive innovation for Avalara teams, i.e., Product, Marketing, Implementation, Support, etc.
  • Provide training on talk tracks, stories and objection handling for designated product(s).
  • Articulate and present the value delivered by Avalara products and services to various levels within a customer organization.
  • Every day you will respond to incoming questions/requests from ADR/SDR/CDM, partner managers, sales executives regarding your designated products(s) to help drive pipeline/bookings.
  • You will hold virtual Office Hours to train and advise ADR/SDR/CDM and partner managers on your designated products(s) and how to identify opportunities. You will also hold Q&A in these sessions.

Pay Range Details

The base pay range(s) below are provided in compliance with state specific laws. Pay ranges may different in other locations.

Colorado $89,550-$143,350 annually

Washington $89,550- $158,350 annually

California $89,550-$173,450 annually

NYC $96,950-$173,450

The pay range above is the general base pay range for you in the state listed. Your actual salary/wage may be based on several factors, such as geographic location, candidate experience and qualifications, and market and business consideration This role is eligible for the opportunity to earn sales incentives based on revenue or use, depending on the terms of the applicable plan and your role.
