Job description

Ambu A/S is currently looking for an HR Manager to support our Global Emerging Markets (GEM) team, which is spread across multiple countries in Asia, Africa, Latin America, and Europe. You will be part of the GEM leadership team with a direct reporting line to the Senior Director for GEM. Furthermore, you will have a dotted reporting line to the global People & Culture function located in Ballerup, Denmark. You have full responsibility for all end-to-end HR deliveries in the relevant countries but with access to external advice when needed. The role requires a wide range of HR competencies as the tasks vary from being very administrative to highly strategic. Together with the Senior Director and the rest of the regional leadership teams, you will drive key People & Culture strategies e.g., employee engagement, talent management, and leadership development and be a trusted People & Culture advisor to the leaders. You will be responsible for developing and ensuring adherence to local policies and guidelines. As this is a newly established role, you get the chance to build the HR function for GEM from scratch.

The role will primarily be based out of Denmark, with some travel to be expected both internationally and to our HQ in Ballerup.

Key Responsibilities

You have full HR ownership in the GEM regions across multiple legal entities including but not limited to:

  • Regional ownership and follow-up on the global annual HR processes as well as driving alignment and initiatives to meet business objectives (i.e., talent management, employee and leadership development, HR administration etc.)
  • Responsible for supporting managers with hiring plans and driving recruitment
  • Shaping and driving the people agenda and creating a positive employee experience through embedded HR initiatives, change management and communication
  • Working closely with the global Centres of Excellence and regional HR Director to ensure consistent implementation of global People & Culture Initiatives
  • Act as the HR sparring partner on all HR-related topics to the regional leadership teams
  • Lead and drive local business transformation from an HR perspective to increase organizational efficiency
  • Ensuring compliance with all layers of governance (federal, state, and local employment and labour laws) as well as aligning towards company strategy, benefits, and culture
  • Acting as primary driver of change towards continuous improvement and standardization across the countries when it comes to benefits, systems, practices, processes, tools, and contracts.

Suggested candidate profile

We are looking for an experienced HR professional who comes with a lot of international experience and who thrives working with many nationalities and cultures. You come with a lot of drive to manage the HR function efficiently, with focus on details and a great ability to prioritise tasks. You enjoy creating structure in chaos and are motivated by having to manage multiple tasks from A-Z. You easily navigate between taking a holistic view and supporting strategic decisions as well as the growth strategy, to focusing on very detailed admin tasks such as updating HR systems, coordinating travel, managing payroll matters, issuing employment contracts etc. You come with a thorough understanding of how to ensure compliance with employment laws, but as you will be handling employment matters in 15+ countries, you have access to external advice.

Since your role will be supporting leaders across 4 continents, you should expect around 50 travel days per year.

  • Strong HR generalist competencies
  • Great interpersonal skills, ensuring collaboration across countries and functions
  • Ability to negotiate and mediate in various HR-related situations and resolving conflicts and reaching mutually beneficial agreements
  • Strong ability to analyze matters, provide effective solutions and proactively address issues and implementing preventive measures, especially in complex and sensitive situations
  • Strong experience translating global strategies to regional implementation
  • Experience in SuccessFactors or a similar HR system
