Job description

As a Data Scientist on our AI Applications team, you will play a crucial role in developing and implementing NewsWhip's AI roadmap. You'll work closely with engineering and product teams to research, prototype, and support the delivery of cutting-edge AI solutions that enhance our predictive media intelligence platform.


Responsibilities: 

  • Lead research and development initiatives for AI/ML solutions, focusing on LLM-based applications and predictive analytics
  • Design and implement AI systems including embedding models, vector stores, and knowledge bases
  • Develop and optimize AI agents and LLM-based applications using function calling and modern AI frameworks
  • Establish frameworks and best practices for Large Language Model Operations and AI system deployment
  • Create and implement quality testing methodologies for AI-based applications
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate AI solutions into our production environment
  • Support product teams in defining AI feature requirements and capabilities
  • Stay current with latest developments in AI and identify opportunities for innovation

Requirements: 

  • 3+ years of commercial experience in Data Science or Machine Learning Engineering
  • Strong experience implementing and deploying AI solutions in production environments
  • Demonstrated expertise with LLMs, embedding models, and vector databases
  • Experience building and deploying AI agents and LLM-based applications
  • Proficiency in Python and common ML/AI frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, Hugging Face, LangChain, etc.)
  • Experience with AI/ML operations and deployment frameworks
  • Strong understanding of AI testing methodologies and quality assurance( Synthetic dataset generation, LLM-as-a-judge, performance evaluation, etc)
  • Experience working with large-scale datasets and distributed computing
  • Track record of successful collaboration with engineering and product team

Nice to have:

  • Experience with predictive modeling and time series analysis
  • Knowledge of natural language processing and content analytics
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, Azure)
  • Experience with real-time AI systems
  • Background in media analytics or content intelligence
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines
  • Advanced degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field
