A leading organisation in the New Zealand consumer goods sector is seeking a talented Data Scientist to drive insights and decision-making through advanced analytics. This company is committed to leveraging data-driven strategies to optimize pricing, assortment, and forecasting in a competitive retail environment.
The Role
Are you a data-driven professional with expertise in forecasting and optimisation? As a Data Scientist, you will play a key role in shaping business strategies using machine learning and advanced analytics. You will work on technically complex projects, providing insights into pricing, demand forecasting, and product assortment. This role is ideal for someone with experience in the Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) sector or a commercial/retail environment.
Key Requirements
Strong experience in forecasting, pricing, and assortment optimisation
Proficiency in Databricks, PySpark, and Python
Expertise in machine learning and predictive analytics
Background in the Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) industry or retail/commercial analytics
Ability to translate complex data into actionable insights for business stakeholders
Excellent communication skills to collaborate across teams

Fully remote work, based anywhere in New Zealand
Competitive hourly rate
Initial contract of 3-6 months with potential for extension
