Who We Are Looking For: We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Financial Reconciliation Consultant with a strong understanding of financial system data, specifically in General Ledger (GL) and Commitment Control (KK). The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of hands-on experience and will play a key role in improving the financial reconciliation processes. You must have the ability to develop and implement robust, standard queries that help agencies perform system reconciliations and monitoring, ensuring data accuracy and efficiency.

This is a primarily remote role in WI, some onsite travel to Madison WI, long term contract!

Responsibilities:

Recommend and implement a reconciliation methodology that enhances the financial reconciliation process by developing and optimizing standard, robust queries that help agencies monitor and reconcile their financial data accurately.

Review and manage the backlog of agency queries.

Evaluate and enhance current reconciliation methodologies.

Assess and optimize existing queries for accuracy, relevance, and efficiency; make necessary updates or discontinue obsolete queries.

Develop new queries, with potential involvement in nVision layout creation.

Collaborate closely with the STAR Finance Team, SCO, and various agencies to gather business requirements.

Reconcile GL to KK, Submodule (e.g., AR, BI, EXP, AP, AM, LA, PC, TR, CM, CST-ACCTG), and Project Costing (PC).

Design and develop monitoring queries, exception reporting, and reconciliation outputs by various financial codes (GL Account Code, Fund, Appropriation, Operating Unit, Department ID).

Partner with the BI Team for presenting results via front-end dashboards.

Update and maintain query training materials for team members.

Ensure query documentation and standards are up-to-date.

Qualifications:

5+ years of relevant experience working with financial systems, specifically with data related to GL and Commitment Control (KK).

Strong functional understanding of financial system data (not just technical).

Deep understanding of multiple SetIDs and financial reporting.

Ability to optimize query performance and troubleshoot issues.

Experience with nVision or a similar reporting tool is a plus.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

Query performance optimization experience.

Experience with nVision.

The pay range for this position is $80 - $110 per hour, based on candidate qualifications.
