Job description

The Database Administrator II will be responsible for maintaining systems as defined and ensuring their ongoing availability. The Database Administrator II will take ownership for aspects of the Azure cloud and on premise SQL Server RDBMS systems. The scope of responsibility is for the complete understanding and optimization for multiple database products at Accruent.

  • Quickly learns new product platforms and database technologies
  • Improves standard practices and procedures within the group
  • Proficient in SQL Server and Azure
  • Understands the infrastructure environment
  • Develops robust, reusable, global solutions
  • Effective troubleshooter and problem solver
  • Working to acquire deep skill set on relevant DBA areas
  • Voluntarily, independently and successfully leads projects to completion
  • Understands the infrastructure environment and can independently support an application’s database platform
  • Has a proven capacity for execution and delivery on tasks
  • Disseminates technical and functional expertise to peers
  • Solid proficiency in backup and recovery options
  • Performs database design tasks
  • Proactively seeks training opportunities for themselves
  • Trains new DBAs
  • Maintains team’s documentation and makes updates and improvements
  • Understands concepts related to database performance and tuning
  • Consistently demonstrates Accruent’s values: results orientation, humility, winning attitude, drive to excellence, integrity, and grit
  • 2-5 years of experience is typical

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience with SQL Server in at least one of the following:
  • 2+ years of experience with native Azure SQL Database and/or Azure Managed Instance
  • Technical database administration
  • Code development, tuning, and design
  • Report development and concepts
  • DB Certification in SQL Server (or equivalent experience) is preferred
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proven self-reliant, self-starter, and capable of assisting with education of others
  • Ability to reason logically and participate in the development of innovative solutions
  • Project and task oriented with a focus on details
  • Able to work well within group or individually on projects

This position is also eligible for bonus as part of the total compensation package.

The salary range for this position (in local currency) is 81,200.00 - 150,800.00
