Senior Delegate Sales Executive

£30-£35k basic plus commission (OTE £40-£45k)

Hybrid/Remote

Newton Media is on the lookout for a dynamic and driven Senior Delegate Sales Executive to team up with our Delegate Sales Manager. This role is all about boosting attendance at our fantastic events. You'll enjoy exciting travel opportunities and incredible prospects for career advancement.

About the role

Your primary focus will be to connect with potential customers by selling delegate tickets over the phone, leveraging LinkedIn and email outreach for our exciting insurance and legal industry events in London, Europe, and North America. You’ll have fantastic opportunities for career advancement to Trainee Manager after successfully completing your first 6-12 months. In this role, you'll support the sales manager with various management and training tasks. With a positive attitude and consistent achievement of targets and KPIs, there is a potential to be promoted to Sales Manager within a year.

What you'll be doing

  • Primarily connect with potential delegates by selling passes over the phone, while also reaching out through LinkedIn and email (with over 95% of your time dedicated to this effort).
  • Discover more about the market landscape and gain insights into our client demographics.
  • Assist the Sales Manager in refining and improving our sales processes.
  • Work closely with internal teams such as Conference Production, Sponsorship, Marketing, and Operations.
  • Ensure that our data is accurately maintained and up-to-date, in line with GDPR regulations.
  • Help brainstorm exciting new event ideas and enhance our existing event series.
  • Identify potential sponsorship opportunities during client interactions.
  • Provide sales reports and updates to the Sales Manager.
  • Be an enthusiastic ambassador for our company brand and clientele.
  • Be flexible with your working hours to accommodate events in the USA as needed.
  • Assist the Sales Manager in overseeing and training a sales team of 3-5 delegate staff.
  • Get involved in the recruitment and interviewing process as necessary over time.

Requirements

What'll you will need

  • At least 2 years of hands-on experience in delegate sales with an established B2B event organiser, with a particular focus on acquiring delegates for conferences rather than exhibitions.
  • Strong expertise in nurturing and developing lasting client relationships.
  • Capability to analyse market trends and pinpoint exciting sales opportunities.
  • Experience in crafting and implementing successful sales strategies.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Creative and innovative approach to problem-solving.

What you'll be

  • Fluent English speaker
  • Proficient at using different IT systems including Google G-Suite, CRM Systems and Willing and able to travel overseas including the USA.
  • Commercially aware, strong business acumen.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Self-motivated and resilient.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple events simultaneously.
  • Open-minded approach to internal processes, with the ability to suggest improvements.
  • Familiarity with LinkedIn and Sales Navigator is highly desirable.
  • ·Comfortable with meeting challenging KPIs, including high call volumes and talk times.

Desirable skills

  • Experience in insurance, captive insurance, or intellectual property markets is advantageous but not essential.
  • Basic management experience (6-12 months), even if outside the B2B events sector.
