The Product Marketing team is seeking a skilled and proactive Product Marketing Manager, Competitive Intelligence to lead the development and implementation of competitive intelligence strategies and ensure cross-functional teams are equipped with actionable insights. This role is crucial in supporting our competitive positioning across three portfolios of SaaS technology offerings and associated services, driving informed decision-making for product, sales, and customer support teams.

 

The Product Marketing Team at Anthology is responsible for positioning and messaging Anthology’s Blackboard, Student, and Reach products and services to align with customer needs, ensuring clear differentiation in the market. The team drives go-to-market strategies, collaborates with product teams to highlight key features, and creates compelling content to support sales, customer success, and demand generation. By conducting market research, competitive analysis, and customer insights, Product Marketing ensures Anthology resonates with target audiences and drives adoption and growth. 

 

Primary responsibilities will include:

Platform Ownership and Maintenance

  • Taking primary responsibility for maintaining, updating, and optimizing the company’s competitive intelligence platforms, namely Klue
  • Ensuring the platform is an up-to-date, comprehensive repository of competitive insights accessible to all relevant teams
  • Maintaining market listening apparatus using tools like Meltwater and Klue to elevate important market developments internally

 

Competitive Analysis and Research

  • Conducting detailed competitive research to provide insights into market trends, competitor activities, and key differentiators
  • Supporting responses to customer inquiries involving competitive comparisons, particularly during RFP processes, ensuring accurate and persuasive responses

 

Collaboration with Product Marketing

  • Partnering with the product marketing team to provide competitive insights that enhance research, positioning, and content strategies
  • Contributing to campaigns and initiatives that promote the unique value of our three SaaS portfolios and surrounding services

 

Cross-Functional Presentations

  • Regularly presenting findings and recommendations to cross-functional teams, including but not limited to product, sales, and customer support, ensuring they are equipped with timely, actionable intelligence
  • Fostering collaboration and alignment across departments to enhance competitive response strategies

 

Actionable Insights and Strategy Development

  • Translating research into actionable insights to guide product development, sales enablement, and go-to-market strategies
  • Identifying and tracking key performance indicators to measure the impact of competitive intelligence initiatives

 

The Candidate:

Required skills/qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Analytics, or a related field (MBA preferred)
  • 5-8 years of experience in competitive intelligence, product marketing, market research, or related roles, ideally in the SaaS or tech industry
  • Hands-on experience with competitive intelligence platforms (e.g., Klue, Crayon)
  • Strong analytical and research skills with the ability to synthesize data into actionable insights
  • Exceptional presentation and communication skills, with experience addressing cross-functional teams
  • Ability to work collaboratively across teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Fluency in written and spoken English at CEF B2 level or above

 

Preferred skills/qualifications:

  • Familiarity with SaaS product offerings and go-to-market strategies
