IGS is currently recruiting a remote Personnel Security Specialist to support our FSO.
This position is pending contract award, applicants will be reviewed post-award.
The Personnel Security Specialist reviews investigation request documentation for accuracy and completeness and processes e-QIP packets for employees. They initiate the paperwork for background investigations, review the information submitted by the applicants, corresponds with the applicants for clarifying information, responsible for data entry requirements associated with each record, making case files, forwarding cases for processing, and submits the e-QIP packet to be reviewed and forwarded to OPM.
Assignment of Work and Travel:
This is a remote access assignment. Candidates will work remotely daily and will remotely access IGS systems and therein use approved IGS provided communications systems. Travel is not required; however, the candidate may be required to attend onsite client meetings as requested.
Responsibilities and Duties (Included but not limited to):
- Conduct Analyses: Review and analyze investigative reports to ensure compliance with requirements; recommend further action as needed.
- Manage Investigative Processes: Prepare and submit written recommendations for security clearance adjudications and provide feedback to enhance personnel security programs.
- Conduct Briefings: Deliver security awareness and threat briefings to staff, revising content based on emerging security requirements.
- Identify Risks: Keep abreast of potential security vulnerabilities and ensure thorough debriefings are conducted for individuals in sensitive positions.
- Bachelor’s degree with 5 - 10 years of experience in personnel security.
- Candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance
- Proven ability to develop and write Reports of Investigation.
- Strong oral and written communication skills for interviews and briefings.
- Analytical expertise to identify security vulnerabilities and inform decision-making.
- 5-10 years of personnel security investigations

- Advanced degree in any field.
- Experience in personnel security roles.
- Knowledge of personnel security regulations.
- Prior, successful experience working in a remote environment.
