POSITION SUMMARY: The UX/UI eCommerce Designer balances business objectives with user needs, collaborates across teams, and uses research and data to drive design decisions. The role works closely with cross-functional teams - including close, daily collaboration with technology developers, ecommerce management, marketing and creative peers - to create an engaging and intuitive shopping experience for our customers.


RESPONSIBILITIES – Satisfactorily performing and/or achieving the following Responsibilities are essential duties of the job.

User Research: 

  • Conduct user research, usability testing, and gather feedback to understand customer needs, behaviors and pain points.
  • Gather qualitative and quantitative data to inform design decisions.
  • Ensure accessibility of design.

Wireframing and Prototyping:

  • Develop wireframes, high-fidelity mockups, and interactive prototypes to visualize design concepts and interactions.
  • Create user flows and journey maps to guide the design process.
  • Develop user flows and wireframes.

Responsive Design: 

  • Ensure designs are mobile-friendly and optimized for various devices and screen sizes, focusing on desktop, tablet, and mobile experiences.

Creative Design:

  • Contribute to and maintain a consistent design system and web style guide.
  • Ensure all design elements adhere to established guidelines and best practices.
  • Create prototypes that illustrate product vision and user experience.
  • Responsible for the website information architecture.

Collaboration: 

  • Work closely with tech developers and eCommerce managers, and other stakeholders to ensure the feasibility of designs and adherence to timelines.

Feedback & Iteration: 

  • Incorporate feedback from user testing and stakeholder reviews to refine and improve designs. Iterate on designs based on user insights and evolving project requirements.

 Design Systems: 

  • Contribute to and maintain a design system, ensuring consistency across all eCommerce touchpoints.

Performance Metrics:

  • Analyze user data and metrics to evaluate design effectiveness, making iterative improvements based on findings.

Documentation:     

  • Document design processes, user flows, and design decisions. Create detailed specifications for handoff to development teams.

Stay Current:

  • Stay up to date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to inform design decisions.


What you Need:

EXPERIENCE / COMPETENCIES / PROFICIENCIES – Satisfactorily achieving and/or meeting the following Experience, Competencies, and Proficiencies are essential duties of the job: 

  • Experience and/or Education: Bachelor's degree in graphic design, Interaction Design, User Experience required. 
  • 5+ years of experience in UX/UI design, preferably in eCommerce or retail environments. 
  • Proficient in design and prototyping tools such as Sketch, Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar. 
  • Strong understanding of user-centered design principles, usability best practices, and user research methodologies. 
  • Experience designing for responsive web applications and familiarity with front-end development practices (HTML, CSS, etc.) is a plus. 
  • Excellent visual design skills and a strong portfolio showcasing your design work and thought process
