Job Description

Plains is looking for a university graduate to fill the role of Operational Performance Analyst. Reporting to the Manager, Operations Performance Metrics, the successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the operational performance management function and collaborating across the organization using a proactive approach to gathering, analyzing, and reporting performance data. The ability to influence others and develop and maintain effective relationships, along with understanding the varied interactions between business units and functional groups will be critical to success in the role.

The selected candidate will be eligible for company benefits including Medical, Dental, Vision, Paid Time Off (PTO), and Free Parking. Additionally, this position comes with the option of a hybrid work schedule, combining working in our Houston office with working remotely.

Responsibilities:

  • Compile, analyze, and report operational performance data for various levels of the organization (North America, Regional, Division, District);

  • Develop graphs, charts, and other visualizations to depict performance results;

  • Use analysis tools to identify trends and show correlations between various components of the business in order to enable better informed decisions;

  • Develop performance dashboards and reports to support performance reviews and guide decisions;

  • Plan and facilitate periodic reviews of operational performance and status against business objectives;

  • Act as a liaison between field operations and corporate groups on a team focused on continuous improvement of operational performance;

  • Work with all levels of management and operational personnel;

  • Work closely with management to prioritize information needs and provide regular status updates; and

  • Resolve and/or escalate issues in a timely fashion.

Qualifications:

  • A four-year bachelor’s degree and a minimum five years’ related work experience;

  • Solid understanding of pipeline system operations and maintenance;

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy;

  • Ability to turn data into information, and information into insight to support senior leadership decision making;

  • Excellent communication skills—both written and verbal—and ability to clearly articulate meaning derived from data analytics;

  • Excellent active listening skills;

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to develop collaborative working relationships;

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite applications with a strong emphasis on Excel, Word, and PowerPoint;

  • Knowledge and experience using business intelligence, performance management tools (Power BI, Excel, Cognos, etc.);

  • High standard of personal integrity and confidentiality;

  • Ability to effectively handle and prioritize multiple projects and meet tight deadlines;

  • Ability to facilitate meetings effectively;

  • Strong organizational skills; and

  • A self-starter who knows when to seek help from team members.

  • Cleared criminal history (background) and satisfactory reference checks

  • Compliance with the Company’s drug and alcohol policy including pre-employment D&A testing.
