Senior Business Analyst – Process Mapping & Redesign

Location: Remote in Central or Eastern time zone with occastional travel to Providence, RI

1 year contract with the potential to covert to fulltime.

Our client, a leader in delivering innovative healthcare solutions is looking for Senior Business Analysts with strong expertise in process mapping and value stream analysis. Role Overview:
As a Senior Business Analyst you will focus on value stream, journey, and process mapping for healthcare payor workflows primarily in claims processing but could also include new client onboarding, annual benefits enrollment, or member servicing Your role will involve documenting processes, analyzing operational performance, and driving the implementation of a technology solution in the claims space that enhances efficiency and customer experience.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Process Mapping: Gather and analyze data to map client journeys and internal workflows for multiple disparate systems. Document business architecture characteristics, including networks, healthcare plan designs, and vendor dependencies.
  • Operational Analysis: Evaluate operational metrics such as inventory, wait times, cycle times, and customer complaints to identify performance gaps.
  • Pain Point Identification: Assess and analyze technology gaps, data flows, resource allocations, and other inefficiencies to uncover root causes of operational challenges.
  • Solution Development: Develop and propose actionable recommendations to address identified pain points and drive process improvements.
  • Redesign & Implementation: Lead or collaborate on process redesign initiatives, working with internal teams and stakeholders to execute recommendations effectively.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with internal SMEs, vendors, and stakeholders to align on project goals and deliverables.
Qualifications:

Experience: 7+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, Process Analyst, or similar role, with a focus on process mapping and improvement. Healthcare payor or Claims experience is strongly preferred.

Core Skills:
  • Expertise in process mapping and value stream analysis.
  • Strong ability to document business architecture and process details.
  • Proven track record of analyzing data and creating actionable insights.
  • Experience designing and executing process improvement recommendations.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in process mapping tools (e.g., Visio, Lucidchart) and data analysis platforms.
  • Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills
Preferred:
  • Familiarity with healthcare payor workflows such as enrollment, claims processing, or member services.
  • Background in industrial engineering or process improvement methodologies.
  • Experience with Visio or other process mapping tools as well as Confluence
  • Certifications such as Lean or Six Sigma are a plus.
