Job Overview: 

The Director of E-Commerce is a strategic leader responsible for optimizing Tactacam's digital presence across Tactacam.com, Feathersnapcam.com, and an upcoming UK website. This role focuses on improving customer experience, driving conversion rates, and supporting growth strategies while maintaining alignment with retail partners. With a strong emphasis on information and education, this role is critical in supporting products that break into new categories and require comprehensive customer understanding. The Director of E-Commerce will collaborate closely with Marketing, Operations, and IT teams to deliver a high-performing, customer-centric digital experience. 

Responsibilities: 

Strategy and Growth 

Develop, refine, and execute e-commerce growth strategies to achieve business objectives. 

Lead initiatives to improve site performance, enhance the customer journey, and increase conversion rates. 

Ensure websites function as a hub for product information and education, especially for products entering new categories. 

Oversee and manage the roadmap for the in-app shopping experience, partnering with development teams to create a seamless and engaging customer experience. 

Technical and Operational Oversight 

Collaborate with the IT Team to manage the technical and operational aspects of the e-commerce ecosystem, including platform management (Magento), checkout optimization, etc. 

Recommend website development projects, including UX/UI enhancements, feature implementations, and site performance optimizations. 

Website Management and Optimization 

Oversee site merchandising strategy, including product taxonomy, navigation, and catalog management. 

Execute and analyze A/B testing, heatmap analysis, and user research to drive data-driven improvements.

Manage the technical aspects of promotions, sales events, and new product launches in collaboration with Marketing, IT, and Operations. 

Build and maintain roadmaps for website and in-app development and optimization.

Collaboration and Stakeholder Management 

Collaborate closely with the Marketing Brand Directors and Performance Marketing Agency to align on growth initiatives and customer experience improvements.

Partner with the Marketing team to ensure seamless integration of campaigns, promotions, and launches on the website. 

Act as a stakeholder in relationships with technology vendors, development agencies, and system integrators. 

Work with Operations to ensure a seamless order fulfillment process.

Analytics and Insights 

Analyze customer behavior, site performance, and conversion data to identify and implement optimization opportunities. 

Develop reports on key website metrics, including conversion rate, average order value, and bounce rate, to inform decision-making. 

 

Qualifications

Requirements: 

8+ years of experience in e-commerce or digital experience roles. 

Proven expertise in e-commerce platforms (Magento preferred). 

Experience with UX/UI design principles and site performance optimization.

Skilled in A/B testing, heatmap analysis, and Google Analytics for data-driven decision-making. 

Strong understanding of site merchandising, product taxonomy, and catalog management. 

Experience managing relationships with external vendors and development agencies.

Ability to balance direct-to-consumer strategies with maintaining alignment with retail partners. 

Exceptional collaboration and project management skills.
