The Manager, Benefits Administration will lead and support the administration of Humana’s benefits and wellness programs offered to 65,000 associates. The position will lead a team that is part of Human Resource Service Delivery (HRSD) which includes Payroll, Employment Tax, Onboarding, HR Records and Benefits Accounting. The HRSD team provides service and support for our associates in a shared service function.

The Manager, Benefits Administration will manage and oversee all aspects of administering medical, medical spending account, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, COBRA, time off, and wellbeing benefits.  The Manager will lead various projects including benefit offering for Merger and Acquisitions and annual open enrollment.  Work assignments involve managing the service delivery of benefits, Merger and Acquisition coordination, leading change in benefit offerings, resolving escalated associate benefit cases and presenting updates to leadership.

The Manager will lead a team of 8 salaried professionals.  The role will assist in implementing the annual operational plan for benefits including coordinate of open enrollment.  The role is the point of contact for 6+ vendors on verifying Humana’s data is correct in downstream systems.  Supports process development and management of tasks related to partner integration, leads the execution of cross-team initiatives of well-being and benefits to track their progress. The role will strategically partner with HR Call Center to support complex benefit inquiries not closed at call point.

Key responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the performance management, coaching and development of 8 associates. 

  • Make decisions relating to benefit appeals (Medical enrollment, spending accounts, etc.).

  • Lead meetings to gather requirements for new products and supporting products.

  • Improve customer service scores with associates.

  • Manage call volume and call escalation.

  • Report benefits updates to leadership and decision-makers.

  • Coordinate communication and related activities with support and benefit design teams.

  • This role is Hybrid Home and would require travel to the Clocktower office 2 days per week.

Work-At-Home Requirements:


To ensure Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates’ ability to work effectively, the self-provided internet service of Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates must meet the following criteria:

  • At minimum, a download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps is recommended; wireless, wired cable or DSL connection is suggested.

  • Satellite, cellular and microwave connection can be used only if approved by leadership.

  • Associates who live and work from Home in the state of California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota will be provided a bi-weekly payment for their internet expense.

  • Humana will provide Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates with telephone equipment appropriate to meet the business requirements for their position/job.

  • Work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information.

Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.


 

$104,000 - $143,000 per year


 

This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
