The Opportunity
As a dedicated Transformation Manager Principal-Agile CoE , you will be responsible for coordinating and driving large-scale transformation projects across the organization. This role requires a strategic problem solver with strong leadership skills and a proven track record in leading sophisticated change initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of business processes, change management, and the ability to influence and collaborate with partners at all levels.
Drives the direction and outcome of major, complex and strategic multi-functional project initiatives that align to a business’ overall strategic plan. Applies master expertise of waterfall and/or agile methodologies to lead the strategic development, operational planning, and budget management of business projects. As a domain expert on transformation, serves in a capacity of extension of the executive sponsor to deliver on transformation projects with significant impact to the business. Translates business strategy into an integrated program plan that influences and provides thoughtful leadership to individuals that are responsible for the end-to-end program life-cycle which includes: negotiating trade-offs, timely execution, and successful implementation. This position is a catalyst to the operational and strategic direction of the business and ensures strategies are efficiently and effectively implemented in alignment with business goals. Delivers on strategic transformation efficiency through proactive identification of highly sophisticated issues resulting from unknown risks or misalignment of business goals. Accountable for matrixed leadership and working closely with customers to determine solutions, resolve major issues, including processes any systems, and deliver on agreed upon scope for strategic outcomes.
We offer a flexible work environment that requires an individual to be in the office 4 days per week. This position can be based in one of the following locations: San Antonio, TX or Charlotte, NC. Relocation assistance is available for this position.
What you'll do:
Lead and implement highly complex projects aligned with strategic vision by applying proficiency in transformation methodologies (Agile) and ensuring alignment with business and enterprise objectives.
Drive implementation of business strategy through delivery of member/customer-facing capabilities, achieving specific strategic business outcomes with clear goals, objectives, and timelines.
Optimize delivery of critical initiatives throughout the lifecycle, ensuring alignment to governance practices and frameworks for consistent execution across USAA and multiple verticals.
Effectively manage risks and issues in complex, multi-workstream change efforts, proactively identifying, mitigating, and addressing potential problems.
Ensure compliant business requirements are delivered and adopted, mitigating risks and maintaining regulatory compliance through appropriate strategic and tactical solutions.
Partner with the Portfolio Management Office to prioritize, pace, and sequence projects across the portfolio, ensuring alignment with strategic direction.
Maintain effective communication with key customers, keeping them informed of critical issues and action plans.
Lead Communities of Practice, sharing standard methodologies and improving USAA's collective transformation delivery capabilities.
Develop and implement transformation strategies, roadmaps, and action plans aligned with interpersonal goals and objectives.
Collaborate with senior leadership to identify and prioritize transformation opportunities, converting strategic intent into actionable delivery plans.
Drive organizational change efforts, ensuring successful adoption of new processes and systems and encouraging a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
Monitor and report on project progress, risks, and issues, providing regular updates to collaborators and demonstrating accountability for project success.
Lead and mentor a team of transformation professionals, providing guidance, support, and development opportunities.
Proactively identify, address, and accurate areas of business operation requiring regulatory or compliance attention, ensuring alignment to Portfolio Management Office processes, procedures, controls, and standards.
Maintain current awareness of developments, trends, and legal/regulatory changes in the Financial Services industry, incorporating relevant considerations into critical initiatives and operational plans.
Lead operational strategy development and interact with Senior Management on compliance oversight, demonstrating accountability for compliance within all project work you're doing
Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, supervised, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures
What you have:
Bachelor’s degree; OR 4 years of related experience (in addition to the minimum years of experience required) may be substituted in lieu of degree.
10 years professional experience in leading consulting on sophisticated critical initiatives, process improvement, IT, or operations within a highly regulated environment of financial services.
Deep technical experience and application of Waterfall and/or Agile methodologies within sophisticated, multi-product, integrated systems environment.
Mastery of project management consulting skills with extensive experience in system design and development from business requirements analysis through to day to day management.
Extensive experience working with Third Parties and Vendors to include developing Statements of Work (SOW), and Request for Proposals (RFP), etc.
Expert knowledge and application of laws and regulations that govern-third-party management.
Extensive experience in the delivery of strategic organizational change, product development and delivery experience to include expertise in the program portfolio subject area.
Recent experience translating sophisticated business strategy and vision into an executable business process and technology plan and successfully delivering component.
Experience collaborating with key partners, influencing senior leader decisions and managing work to achieve strategic goals.
Strong relationship management building skills with the ability to effectively collaborate, communicate and develop relationships across leadership to include senior level executives. Demonstrable experience making pitches to executive management including senior level executives.
Authority in industry standard in the program portfolio subject area.
Certification in Waterfall or Agile methodologies.
What sets you apart:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
10+ years of experience in transformation management, organizational change, or a related field.
Proven track record of successfully leading large-scale transformation projects.
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with customers at all levels.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Solid project management skills, with experience in Agile and Lean methodologies.
Outstanding communication and presentation skills.
Compensation range: The salary range for this position is: $164,780 - $314,960.
Compensation: USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market data of the position. The actual salary for this role may vary by location.
Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance and at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.
