Starting base salary range is $135,000-160,000. Individual compensation will be commensurate with the candidate’s experience.   Full benefits are available and the position is also eligible for the Manager/Director level annual bonus program. 


Summary of Position:

AVIXA (Audiovisual & Integrated Experience Association) is seeking a dynamic Director of Digital Product to join our team. Reporting to the Vice President, Content Delivery, you will create and manage the successful execution of our digital roadmap, with a specific emphasis on our website, digital community (AVIXA Xchange), and personalizing our users’ journeys across our digital products. You will also influence and support efforts related to the connections between our digital and in-person experiences, and other products as needed.

You’re a passionate product management expert who thrives on creating dynamic, user-first experiences while balancing strategic goals and technical possibilities. With a mix of sharp business acumen and leadership skills, you drive impactful results, managing diverse teams and delighting both internal and external users. Your experience leading content-driven websites and B2B platforms has sharpened your ability to blend innovation with business strategy, and you’re a natural at collaborating across teams—from IT to marketing to vendors. Transparency is your mantra, and you believe data (from analytics, feedback, or experience) is the foundation for success. You love diving into the details, but never lose sight of the bigger picture, always staying curious about digital trends and product management best practices. What will you do?

As a leader and expert of digital products and experiences, you will work across our product operations, IT, content, marketing, and other stakeholder teams, as well as external vendors, to own the what and why of what we create. You will develop, plan and manage priorities for our digital initiatives, leveraging customer and business insights to optimize for reach and engagement. You will also be empowered and expected to proactively identify and implement opportunities for refinement and efficiency.

We have a number of strategic initiatives that you will lead and/or contribute to, such as the revamp of our core digital experience, expanded integration with our global shows and their digital experiences, and shepherding a natural inclusion of B2B and revenue-driving efforts within our platforms.

How You’ll Make an Impact:

  • Own the strategic lifecycle and execution of our digital products, including research, planning, training, launch, iteration, and sunset when necessary, leading to direct and notable impacts on company strategy and goals. Specific areas of focus include AVIXA.org, AVIXA Xchange, and the products within them (such as AVIXA TV and our education/ training catalogue), as well as the user journeys that connect our global digital properties (such as with our trade show sites).
  • Develop clear and detailed requirements that are actionable and measurable in support of the digital roadmap, focused on iterative enhancements across multiple departments and stakeholders
  • Communicate and collaborate at each stage of the product lifecycle with stakeholders at all levels. Includes direct reports (1 PM and 1 APM), cooperative team members (i.e. IT, marketing, sales, etc.) and senior leadership.
  • Optimize digital ecosystem for reach, engagement, revenue, efficiency, performance and SEO
  • Analyze user needs, behaviors, and competitive trends, to make data-driven decisions
  • Champion the product philosophies and mindset within the organization
  • Attend industry and association events on behalf of the company
  • Ensure OKRs are effectively defined, measurable, and monitored

  

Qualifications/ About You:

  • You prioritize people – serving our audiences, members, and internal stakeholders
  • Product Development Lifecycle:
    1. Extensive experience leading product strategy, design, development, and go-to-market efforts.
    2. In-depth knowledge of CMS, OVP, and community tools; led efforts to improve tool efficacy and stay ahead of digital trends.
    3. Deep knowledge and demonstrated leadership with personalization and conversion-driven journeys. Bonus points for eCommerce or B2B experience.
    4. Familiar with AI use/integration in audience-facing or internal applications.
    5. Experience managing a portfolio of products for global and/or multi-lingual audiences.
  • Team Leadership:
    1. Demonstrated experience leading teams, both directly and indirectly.
    2. Exceptional ability in communication collaboration, objective conflict resolution and problem-solving skills.
    3. Strong understanding and proven application of product management frameworks (i.e. Scrum, Kanban, etc.)
    4. Experience working closely with teams across marketing, sales, IT, operations, customer support, etc.
  • Leadership and experience integrating data from analytics platforms (such as Google Analytics, Chartbeat, etc.) into decisions daily, and demonstrated ability to effectively disseminate data so that it is actionable and digestible by multiple stakeholders.

 

Education: Knowledge and experience are prioritized. College/ education may be considered alongside direct experience.

Experience Level: Minimum 8 years’ proven experience in digital product, product development or related fields, overseeing all aspects of product lifecycle5+ years in a leadership and/or management role, such as Sr. Product Manager or product lead. Bonus points for non-profit, software, and/or media experience.

Certifications: n/a (Bonus points for Product Management, Agile or Scrum certifications, or CTS)

Technical Skills: Expert fluency with project/ product management software (ClickUp, Trello, Aha!, Jira, etc.), expert fluency in major digital analytics platform (bonus points for GA4 and/or Chartbeat), solid understanding of UX and UI design principles and best practices, expert user of CMS platforms and designer of workflows.
