Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to manage, integrate, and coordinate workgroups involved in Source Inspection activities at customer and supplier locations. This leadership role will include the responsibility for overseeing the performance of a team, ensuring the completion of operational assignments within quality, time, and budget constraints. The candidate will also support the development of work plans, schedules, and resources, while working closely with staff to ensure efficient and effective operations. This role will also include administrative support, customer interaction, and fostering the development of the team.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Manage, integrate, and coordinate work groups and units engaged in Source Inspection activities at customer/supplier locations.
- Assist in establishing unit objectives, work plans, and schedules while ensuring resources are available for completing operational assignments.
- Support administrative tasks such as budget development and cost/benefits analysis.
- Oversee activities of subordinates, ensuring a productive work environment and that department objectives are met within quality standards, time, and budget constraints.
- Advise staff on operational projects and tasks, providing guidance and direction.
- Support the evaluation and implementation of work procedure changes in assigned areas.
- Participate in hiring candidates and provide performance evaluations.
- Recommend promotions, interpret and apply organizational policies, and manage employee situations.
- Develop and train subordinates, fostering their professional growth.
- Facilitate team meetings to enhance communication within the team.
- Provide direction and assist with the implementation of departmental and company initiatives.
- Participate in the development of operational improvement plans.
- Assist in decision-making that impacts the success of day-to-day operations.
- Support frequent customer interactions on operational issues.
- Apply theories, principles, and concepts to segment operational planning.
- Contribute as a team member for larger business development opportunities.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or applicable technical training and certifications with 5 years of experience specific to operational needs.
- In lieu of formal education, 9 years of directly related experience preferred.
- 4 years of experience in a supervisory and/or leadership role preferred.
- U.S. Citizenship required due to client requirement.
- Proven leadership skills, with the ability to counsel, coach, develop, and motivate a staff of professionals.
- Strong team-building and facilitation skills.
- Solid customer service and communication/presentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated use of standard theories, principles, concepts, and techniques in Quality Assurance and Source Inspection disciplines.
- Knowledge of advanced aspects of technical specialties in assigned areas of responsibility.
- Experience in managing and coordinating cross-functional teams, particularly in aerospace or government-related industries.
