Role:
The People Operations Senior Coordinator is a motivated and detail-oriented HR Coordinator to join our dynamic team. This role supports the organization’s people functions, including employee benefits administration, HRIS data integrity and management, reporting, and compliance. Excellence will be achieved by mastering the HR body of knowledge to thrive in a collaborative environment, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and the successful implementation and execution of HR initiatives. As a growing HR professional in a support function, the People Operations Senior Coordinator is proactive in finding meaningful ways to ensure the department strategy is executed and measured to confirm outcomes and results are measurable, achievable, and sustainable.
Responsibilities:
Benefits Administration
- Coordinate and administer employee benefits programs, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and retirement plans.
- Maintain implementation and connection of benefit brokerage and HRIS platforms.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for benefits vendors to ensure employee inquiries are addressed.
- Assist with medical, dental, vision, life, and 403(b) administration, including claims, enrollment, changes, and terminations.
- Support open enrollment activities, including communication, education, and troubleshooting.
- Maintain knowledge of updates to state and federal benefit requirements.
- Provide the full life cycle administration support of FMLA, STD, LTD, paid/unpaid personal leaves, and ADA accommodation requests.
Payroll Support
- Support Finance as a backup payroll administrator
- Prepare and submit payroll information to the Finance department on a bi-weekly basis. Run reports to audit and crosscheck employee information in the HRIS after payroll is submitted.
- Research payroll errors and recommend corrective action
- Interface with third-party benefit administrators as necessary to ensure accurate and timely processing of benefit deductions
- Serve as point person for user inquiries and questions related to training, self-service capabilities, and access
HRIS Data Integrity
- Ensure the accuracy and completeness of employee records in the HRIS and across all platforms.
- Perform regular audits to maintain data integrity and compliance.
- Act as a point of contact for troubleshooting HRIS issues and escalating to vendors as needed.
- Facilitate the part-time to full-time employee conversion process.
Compliance and Policy Support
- Ensure timely follow-up of unemployment claims and leave administration.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable labor laws, company policies, and federal and state regulations regarding benefits, compensation, and leave administration, including (but not limited to) FLSA, ACA, FMLA, ADA, EEOC, ERISA, HIPAA
- Respond in a timely manner to auditing requests to include BLS, Salary Surveys, etc.
- Support the documentation and communication of HR policies and procedures.
- Manage requests for employment verification and PSLF requests.
- Coordinate and maintain mandatory employee compliance training.
General People Operations Support
- Participate in onboarding and offboarding processes to enhance employee experience.
- Provide backup support for other HR team functions as needed.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience as an HR Coordinator or related role.
- BA/BS preferred - SHRM, PHR, or CEBS certifications desired
- Proficiency in payroll/HRIS and benefits systems, Trinet is preferred
- Experience in benefits administration, including claims, enrollment, terminations, etc. is preferred
- Ability to appropriately manage confidential information
- Superior communication skills, including internal communications experience
- Project management and change management skills
- Focus on teamwork and positive impact
- Demonstrated approachability and active listening skills
- Prior experience in benefits administration or wellness program support is preferred.
Reliable High-Speed Internet Required: Must have a stable high-speed internet connection to support seamless remote collaboration, virtual meetings, online job tasks, etc.
The full salary range for this position, across all United States geographies, is $54,516 to $68,355 per year. The upper portion of the salary range is typically reserved for existing employees who demonstrate strong performance over time. Starting salary will vary by location, qualifications, and prior experience; during the interview process, candidates will learn the starting salary range applicable for their location. We pay competitively in the tech-forward nonprofit space and offer a robust benefits package.
