For our location in Johannesburg (Lanseria) we are looking for a
Service Technician - In-house Repairs and Remote Service Desk (m/f/d)

Your tasks
- Provide first level technical assistance to clients
- Pre-qualifying a problem and escalating it to 2nd-level support if necessary
- Perform technical error analysis and corrective action via remote access or via phone
- Carry out installations and upgrades of software via remote access
- Use of augmented reality (AR) technology where applicable
- Creating a service report and recordings of the service assignments in the ticketing system
- Providing remote assistance for the on-site Service Technicians with device installation, commissioning and technical queries.
- Providing technical support for Key Account clients as required
- Providing on-site repairs, installations, off-site troubleshooting and support
- Providing preventative maintenance and repair of equipment (foodprocessing, retail & industrial scales, weigh price labeling and inspection systems as required)
- Responsibility for the spare parts inventory in the service department
- Proactive sales of our service products and services
Your qualifications
- Associated degree or equivalent training as a Communications Technician, IT specialist in the fields of Electronics/Electrical Engineering
- Experience as a Technical Customer Service Agent
- Experience in repair and installation of PC based devices or processor controlled equipment – in our case; weigh price labelling, inspection systems and industrial scales
- Strong knowledge of operating systems and network technology
- Sound knowledge of electronics and basic knowledge of mechanics
- Capable of reading wiring diagrams, schematics and spare part break downs
- Familiar with TCP/IP based connections and other system bus protocols
- Confident appearance, ability to work under pressure, initiative and organizational skills
- Reliability and professional dealings with customers
- Eager for continuous further training and education after comprehensive onboarding
- Customer focused and self motivated
- Good analytical skills for troubleshooting and diagnostics
- NRCS verification officer/repairer (nice to have)
