We are seeking an experienced AI Program Manager to join our client's team. This role is ideal for a subject matter expert (SME) in Machine Translation (MT) and AI innovation, with a strong background in localization. The AI Program Manager will oversee MT & AI solutions, manage client relationships, and support internal production teams through troubleshooting, process optimization, and training.
Responsibilities
Project Coordination: Scope, schedule, and budget MT suitability evaluations by coordinating cross-functional teams, ensuring seamless hand-offs, and tracking financials.
MT Suitability Analysis: Critically analyze MT suitability results across systems and languages.
Training & Documentation: Provide training to linguists and engineers, prepare necessary documentation, and ensure it is consistently updated.
Cost Management: Track MT program costs and client savings, including provider costs and post-editing savings.
Reporting: Create detailed program reports, presenting findings and insights at quarterly business reviews (QBRs).
Sales Support: Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for pre-sales activities, offering insights on MT and proprietary AI solutions, and defining strategic roadmaps for clients.
Industry Engagement: Stay informed about AI and localization trends, contribute to internal discussions, collaborate with industry organizations, and test new tools when needed.
Strategy Development: Build long-term MT/AI strategies with business owners and managers, focusing on commercial and operational efficiency.
Commercial Analysis: Analyze MT program performance metrics, including margin, volumes, rates, and discounts.
Requirements
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in project management, language quality, talent management, or as a language lead.
Proven track record overseeing multi-language programs for recognized brands, with strong commercial and independent working skills.
Hands-on experience in localization, including CAT tools, translation processes, and working with translation agencies.
Proficiency with localization software (CAT tools, TMS).
Strong understanding of linguistics and translation.
Familiarity with Excel Power Pivots, Macros, and automation is a plus.
Experience managing global teams and engaging with linguists.
Excellent team-building and communication skills.
Self-motivated, adaptable, and skilled in time management.
Strategic and commercial mindset with risk awareness.
Education
Master’s Degree in Localization, Languages, or a related field preferred.
Bachelor’s Degree with relevant industry experience is acceptable.
