Job description

OFFICE LOCATED IN MACON GA AND MAY TRANSITION TO A PERIODIC ALTERNATIVE WORK ENVIRONMENT AFTER TRAINING AND CONTINGENT UPON ONGOING JOB PERFORMANCE. 

DESCRIPTION OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Input of prospect, customer, and coverage data (from policies and applications) into the Agency Management System.
  • Managing central email inboxes, distribution of policy related documents to agents and assigning work tasks for Brokerage staff.
  • Successful achievement of Brokerage new business and renewal service standards.
  • Responsible for collection, receipt and recording of monies received by GFB Brokerage, Inc. as well as invoicing additional premiums due from the client, including

completion of check requests to refund premiums to brokerage clients and insurance companies/brokers and finance companies.

  • Review and process carrier policy downloads (electronic transfer of applications, policy data, premiums and commissions into our Agency Management System).
  • Produce certificates of insurance for agents as requested.
  • The BSR will be directly involved with quality control of data in the agency management software.
  • Following up with companies and agents for underwriting requests, policy changes, premium audits, and binders.
  • Analyzes, researches, and ultimately resolves complex accounting discrepancies to ensure timely reconciliation of Brokerage accounting statements and reduction of Brokerage bad debt expense. 

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES/REQUIREMENTS:

  • Quoting, binding, and requesting issuance of personal lines policies, premium finance contracts, and surety bonds in their assigned territory.
  • Maintains limited renewal book of personal lines policies in assigned territory.
  • Excellent customer service to GFB agents and CSRs is required. 
  • This position will perform a wide range of clerical and administrative duties.  You will be expected to work in a team environment.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as deemed appropriate by brokerage management.

QUALIFICATION, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: 

  • High school diploma (or GED) required. 
  • Must hold & maintain a Georgia Agent’s Property & Casualty Insurance License. If not currently licensed, must obtain within 1st 90 days of employment. 
  • Requires excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Prior experience working with an agency management system preferred.
  • 1 year work experience as an insurance customer service representative, or the equivalent in related work experience with a Property & Casualty insurance company/agency preferred.
  • Must possess basic skills with computers including experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. 
  • Effective communication skills with agents, CSRs, partner company reps and co-workers are required.
  • Must maintain a valid Georgia Driver’s License.
