The Vacancy

Binnies UK part of the RSK Group is looking for a Senior Planning Manager working within our Delivery group on UK Water Engineering and Construction projects.

Binnies is expanding its planning capabilities following the award of Design and Construct contracts across England, Scotland and Wales. As a result, there is a requirement for the role of a Senior Planning Manager to manage, develop and enlarge the planning team.

At Binnies we offer flexible/hybrid working patterns with flexible UK base location.

About the Role:

Responsible for the management, welfare, training and development of the Planning Team.

Forecasting of resource needs, recruitment, and allocation of work within the team.

Developing and maintaining planning procedures, guidelines, tools and reporting systems.

Developing and maintaining the overall programme of works.

Ensuring that Project Programmes are prepared and submitted in accordance with contractual and procedural requirements.

Advise and lead on Contractual issues related to programme e.g. Compensation Events, Early Warnings, Claims and EOTs.

Advise and lead on assessment, acceptance, and integration of supplier’s programmes.

Appreciation of planning input into Key Performance Indictors and bench marking.

Some UK travel between sites or offices is expected.

Essential Requirements:

Extensive planning and project controls knowledge and experience, on a programme of works.

Proven leadership and line management skills.

Understanding of the multi-disciplined roles involved within an integrated programme. (i.e. design, construction, commissioning, interface with 3rd party others and framework partners)

Excellent working knowledge of Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project.

The role is suitable for candidates with a background in Civil Engineering, or another related discipline (e.g. M&E or Process industry). You should possess and be able to demonstrate the following qualifications, skills and knowledge.

Desirable Requirements:

Design knowledge, and experience of developing design programmes.

Water Industry Experience and practical knowledge – Water and Wastewater.

Commercial/NEC Contract knowledge.

Earned Value Analysis methodologies.
