National Sales Manager

Reports to: GENERAL MANAGER

Location: London , Leeds, Birmingham or Manchester

We are seeking a National Sales Manager with an entrepreneurial spirit who excels in a dynamic, growth oriented environment to join our team. The role is field based and will be responsible for the UK area (The candidate should be preferably based either in London, Leeds, Birmingham or Manchester)

What You Will Do

  • Report and work with the General Manager to deploy CORZA MEDICAL’s vision and strategy for the region, achieving goals and revenue targets;
  • Reports to the General Manager wins and losses per KAM territory and align to the GM’s strategies, supporting the company in over-achieving its revenues and goals;
  • This person will lead the UK Biosurgery sales team for United Kingdom (5 KAMs) and will ensure they meet their targets in terms of revenue and growth;
  • Implements Commercial Excellence strategies to achieve goals and local/regional budgets together with sales analysis and data interpretation;
  • Develop remediation plans in case of under performance and work with GM to build new strategy;
  • Works and co-travels with KAMs to understand territory and remove obstacles to achieve targets and revenues while feeding back information to Corza’s Marketing and tender departments (3/4 days per week);
  • Execute the local marketing plan and supports back office for the management of congresses, wet labs, hospital meetings and other Corza events;
  • Works closely with MSL to support KOLs with clinical evidence while leveraging on commercial strategies;
  • Establishes and meets future developmental needs of the sales team creating learning plans while recommending training and development solutions and providing mentoring and coaching as appropriate;
  • Clearly defines roles, responsibilities, and measurable outcomes for all activities of sales team. Identifies those capable of advancing to more responsible positions and takes appropriate action to support this;
  • Accountable for the selling effort in an assigned geographic area, maximizing sales and minimizes expenses in assigned area and achieving all geographic product revenue and expense targets;
  • Develops and initiates strategies that create new business and build key accounts;
  • Provides recommendations on customer strategies, coordinates the development of territory business plans including congresses and marketing campaigns;
  • Coordinates business planning with input and liaison with other relevant managers and functional departments, as appropriate (ie: marketing, tender, medical);
  • Directs planning and promotional activities within area of geographic or therapeutic responsibility;
  • Establishes superior working relationships with key opinion leaders locally and nationally, which can influence prescribing policy/protocol position;
  • Ensures monitoring systems are in place and being run effectively in order to evaluate sales force effectiveness e.g. Company CRM databases;
  • Utilizes high level of business acumen in analyzing and coordinating activities from identified industry trends, competitor’s resources and practices;
  • Takes a lead role in representing company at professional events and promotes company products at such events;
  • Keeps the Team happy, engaged, accountable and with a sense of urgency

What you will need

  • Previous pharmaceutical or medical device hospital selling experience and therapeutic knowledge is critical. Preferably in haemostasis but surgical experience is suitable;
  • Must have excellent sales knowledge, accountability and sense of urgency;
  • Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, and negotiation skills are required to provide clear and concise analysis of quantitative and qualitative concepts;
  • Is very familiar with industry trends and remains current with competitor’s resources and practices.
  • Must be able to analyze complex data and put together effective concise reports while meeting all deadlines;
  • Must have strong team working and cross-functional abilities;
  • Has ability to strategically plan to add most value by focusing team efforts effectively.
  • Has the ability to maintain / develop and utilize a high level of product and therapeutic disease knowledge to promote the appropriate use of our products to Key Opinion Leaders;
  • Must have excellent analytical skills and be able to identify and understand complex issues and problems and interpret information in a manner that provides appropriate recommendations to senior management and Therapeutic Specialists;
  • Working experience with NHS Trusts, super Trusts and NHS supply chain tenders and/or frameworks;
  • Knowledge of NHS and the private sector sales cycle is a must;
  • Experience also with Scottish and NI trusts is a plus
  • Data and BI literate;
  • Must be able to travel extensively (at least 70%)

Education And Minimum Experience Requirements

  • Typically requires a BA or BS degree, preferably in the sciences or business-related disciplines;

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in pharmaceutical/medical device industry and at least 5 years managing a sales team
