POSITION

Acting Training & Development Officer 1.0 FTE

(1 Temporary Position)

LOCATION

Catholic Education Centre, Mississauga

SALARY

($64,791 - $80,511)

Position Summary

Under the direction of the Training & Development Supervisor, the Training & Development Officer provides assistance to promote, facilitate and maintain the efficient operation of the Training & Development department. Coordinates job/tasks that relate to training initiatives, performance appraisals and board wide programs. Produces and submits reports to the Ministry and senior management as required.

Basic Qualifications

University degree or Community college diploma in adult education, or a related field.

CTP/CTDP (Certified Training Practitioner/Certified Training and Development Professional) certification or equivalent is an asset.

Minimum of five (5) years' experience in Training & Development, Adult Learning and/or Human Resources, preferably in a large, multi-union organization.

OR

Equivalent combination of education and experience.

Other Qualifications/Additional Experience

Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office Programs including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Publisher

Experience with training software and relational databases and web based applications, specifically D2L/Brightspace and Professional Learning

Ability to exercise considerable independent judgment, tact, sensitivity, and confidentiality in dealing with internal and external contacts.

Excellent written/oral communication and organizational skills

Ability to work with minimal supervision while accepting responsibility for decisions

Two years budget/bookkeeping experience

Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle.

Experience In Public Speaking Preferred
