Job description

The Opportunity:

The Therapy ABA Biller will be responsible for managing the billing and coding process for ABA therapy services. This individual will work closely with clinical staff, insurance providers, and families to ensure accurate and timely billing, claims submission, and reimbursement. The ideal candidate will have experience in medical billing, specifically for ABA therapy, and will be detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.

This position is remote and offers you the flexibility of working from home.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Process and submit insurance claims for ABA therapy services in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Review and verify client insurance information, ensuring coverage eligibility for services.
  • Ensure all billing codes (CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS) are accurate and reflect services rendered.
  • Work closely with the clinical team to gather necessary documentation and updates for billing.
  • Follow up with insurance companies to track claim status and resolve any issues or denials.
  • Maintain accurate records of billing, payments, and outstanding claims.
  • Communicate with families regarding any billing inquiries, payment options, and insurance coverage details.
  • Address and resolve discrepancies in billing and payments, collaborating with relevant teams to ensure proper resolution.
  • Assist in the development and improvement of billing procedures and workflows to ensure efficiency and accuracy.
  • Stay current on changes in insurance policies, billing codes, and ABA-specific billing regulations.
To succeed in this role you will need:
  • High school diploma or equivalent (Associate's or Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred).
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical billing or ABA billing preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of ABA therapy services and insurance billing practices.
  • Familiarity with insurance systems, claims processing, and denials management.
  • Proficiency in billing software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with families, clinicians, and insurance representatives.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations.
Service Fee:
Industry standards applicable to the state depending on work experience and level of expertise.
Hours:

US Eastern Standard Time (EST) - Monday to Friday, 9am to 6pm
