Purpose Of The Role
This role will report to the Head of Statutory Reporting & Restructuring and be responsible for the preparation of a portfolio of subsidiary accounts and support the preparation of the Group Annual Report and Financial Statements. In addition, it will be responsible for maintaining the accounts production system for the subsidiary companies and monitoring and tracking of the audit for these, liaising with both the auditors and other relevant internal teams as appropriate to take assigned statutory accounts from trial balance to signed and filed.
In addition, the role will assist the Head of Statutory Reporting & Restructuring in audit planning, timetabling, Group reporting instructions, discussions, training and engaging with all stakeholders in the planning process as well as taking the lead on resolving audit queries for nominated companies by liaising with other departments and the auditors. The role will include ensuring that for nominated companies the statutory accounts and ledgers agree or can be reconciled to the ledger and that all relevant journals are entered onto the nominal ledger at an agreed time to facilitate this.
Quarterly work will be undertaken to reconcile key balance sheet areas (intangible assets, PPE, IFRS 15 and IFRS 16) and opportunities exist in the team to assist with Charity financial statements for the Ardonagh Community Trust, Investment Company accounts, annual impairment assessments, regulatory capital review and liquidations. Where necessary assistance with the preparation of notes to the Group consolidated accounts may also be required.
Qualifications & Experience
- Education - Degree level educated (or equivalent).
- Specialised Knowledge -IFRS, UK GAAP
- Microsoft Office skills to intermediate level
- Professional Certification - ACA/ACCA/CIMA
- Experience - Previous experience of statutory accounts production from TB to signed accounts with minimal oversight, audit process management and quarterly reporting to strict deadlines
