Senior Bookkeeper/Accountant

Job brief

An international company specializing in oilfield equipment rental and support services is seeking a Senior Bookkeeper/Accountant to join their Hong Kong-based team. This role involves maintaining financial integrity, ensuring compliance with local and international accounting standards, and contributing to the companys operational efficiency and growth.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate financial records, including ledgers, invoices, and receipts.
• Reconcile bank statements and company accounts regularly.
• Prepare monthly and annual financial reports.
• Ensure compliance with Hong Kong tax regulations, including preparing and filing tax returns.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payments and invoicing.
• Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
• Conduct variance analysis and provide insights into company expenditures and revenue streams.
• Coordinate with external auditors and tax consultants as needed.
• Streamline financial processes and improve internal controls.
• Collaborate with other departments to support operational decisions.
• Conduct ad hoc financial analysis and other finance-related tasks.

Requirements

• Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; HKICPA or ACCA qualification preferred.
• At least 5 years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting, with experience in the oil & gas or equipment rental industry considered a plus.
• Familiarity with Hong Kong financial regulations and accounting practices.
• Proficiency in accounting software such as MYOB, QuickBooks, Xero, or similar.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Office tools.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication skills, fluent in Cantonese, Mandarin, and English.
