An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the
NHS Highland Technology Enabled Care (TEC) Team. We are passionate about delivering technology solutions that help people live independently and safely, and access health and social care services in ways that suit them best.
The TEC Team Provides Three Key Services
- Near Me – video consultations
- Connect Me – remote health monitoring
- Telecare – a home emergency alarm system
We are a small team looking for a motivated individual to join Telecare and help us provide exceptional support to patients, carers, vulnerable individuals, and internal & external staff.
Currently, the TEC team is undertaking the transition of Telecare systems from analogue to digital, as part of the nationwide program to digitise phone lines. In this role, you will provide essential administrative support to this transition and contribute to the successful delivery of day-to-day Telecare services.
This role offers a varied and interesting workload. Your responsibilities will include answering queries, fault reporting and basic problem-solving, as well as supporting data collection and reporting. You will also signpost individuals to appropriate services, maintain databases and contribute to social media content and event planning.
If you have strong administrative skills, enjoy working with people and are eager to learn, then we’d love to hear from you. Don’t worry - you don’t need to be a technology expert!
Please note that the base location for this role is negotiable. Many members of the TEC team are based across Highland and work remotely from home.
For informal enquiries please contact shona.aldridge@nhs.scot
This role does not meet the eligibility criteria for a Skilled Worker visa or a Heath and Care Worker visa.
NHS Highland is unable to provide candidates with a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS).

NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week. If you have any questions or concerns please contact the Recruiting Board.
