About the Opportunity 

Building on track record of embedding and advancing action that promotes equality for women and girls globally, the Clinton Foundation is hiring a new Manager, Women & Girls’ Equality at CGI.  

The Manager will play a key role in managing the team’s efforts both internally and externally. This role is charged with building and stewarding relationships with a community of domestic and international organizations committed to advancing gender equity efforts around the world; fostering and supporting a portfolio of Commitments to Action (also known as CTAs, these are new, specific, and measurable projects undertaken by partners in CGI’s community); managing relevant events and programming; and leading the team’s internal coordination across CGI and the Clinton Foundation. 

Strong candidates for this role will have a strong background in international development, global affairs, or social impact with a focus on gender equity. Candidates will have excellent project and relationship management experience, and an intuition for bringing different people together to forge partnerships. Candidates will have a global perspective, a large professional network, and be excited to engage in challenges facing a diverse set of constituencies in the U.S. and around the world.  

This position will report directly to the Director, Women & Girls’ Equality while working collaboratively across various CGI and Clinton Foundation teams on systems and processes. 

Core Responsibilities  

Help develop, grow, and manage of a diverse community of organizations focused on advancing progress for women and girls 

  • Proactively build and manage a pipeline of target organizations to join the CGI network and attend CGI events, including potential commitment makers, paying ticket holders, sponsors, and more. Examples of target organizations include Fortune 500 companies, large philanthropic institutions, innovators, impactful nonprofits, and other organizations focused on gender equity 
  • Manage existing CGI partnerships and relationships related to advancing gender equity, including collaboratively across teams. 
  • Support CGI and broader Clinton Foundation colleagues via relevant programming to recruit sponsors and partner internally to support paid ticket recruitment for the CGI Annual Meeting. 
  • When appropriate, partner with the CGI Community Growth and Clinton Foundation development team to support sponsorship proposals or other asks to help sustain the work of CGI. 

Support development and management of Commitments to Action (CTAs): 

  • Develop a portfolio of CTAs focused on specific gender equity solutions: gender lens investing, combatting GBV and child marriage, the gender-climate nexus, advancing women’s health, improving education, workforce, and economic advancement opportunities for women and girls, empowering full civic and political participation, etc. 
  • Help support and/or manage ongoing, existing CTAs through relationship management with commitment-makers, including but not limited to facilitating introductions and connections, identifying opportunities to engage CTA makers and amplify their work through events, social media, and more. Also handles overseeing commitment-maker participation in the CGI community through year-round programming and the CGI Annual Meeting. 
  • In addition to relationship management, a critical component of Commitment to Action development includes supporting the development of a written Commitment to Action, which requires skills including project management, content expertise, and copy-editing/writing. 

Manage events and programming to facilitate recruitment and community building and to advance Commitment to Action development: 

  • On an as-needed basis, lead and/or support the development of public or private gender programming to advance community building and/or the development of CTAs. 
  • Examples of programming include:  
  • Developing private roundtable discussions on specific topics to build issue awareness and identify partnership opportunities.  
  • Creating public-facing panels and discussions at CGI or partner events to elevate issues and partners and create the platform for announcing new Commitments to Action. 
  • As appropriate, coordinating virtual and/or in-person programming for ongoing working groups focused on specific gender equity solutions. 
  • Collaborating internally to support development and recruitment events.  

Lead and maintain key processes for the Women & Girls’ Equality team and support broader systems and processes within CGI and the Clinton Foundation. 

  • Lead internal systems and process management for the Women & Girls’ Equality team as well as inter-team coordination.  
  • Manage and streamline all relevant Women & Girls’ Equality team trackers (such as spreadsheets, Word documents, Airtable, any new IT or backend systems), etc., and ensure coordination of processes across other Focus Areas. 
  • Manage CRM and project management efforts related to relationship management and list building for events, outreach, and community-building as a whole. 
  • Manage finalization of all new CTAs and previous progress reports in partnership with the information and implementation team and maintain documentation to maximize process efficiency. 
  • Support the development of annual strategy and programming for the Women & Girls’ Equality team, including administration and execution of virtual and in-person community events. 

Minimum Qualifications  

What we’re looking for: 

  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree with a focus on gender and/or international development preferred 
  • At least 6 years of professional experience, with at least 1 year of managing people and or projects. At least 3+ years in the social impact space, with a record of developing partnerships. 
  • Either 3+ years of project management or and experience in the gender equity space preferred
  • Strong knowledge of international development/social impact landscape, particularly through a gender lens, with insight into key players and trends. Deep commitment to equity both internally and externally. 
  • Excellent project management skills, proactive attitude, and flexibility when dealing with uncertainty or mission changes. 
  • Strong track-record of developing and successfully sustaining cross-sector partnerships through diverse partner engagement strategies.  
  • Experience in fundraising, sponsorship cultivation, or private sector engagement is a plus. 
  • ​​Ability to occasionally work in a varying schedule including nights, early mornings, weekends and holidays.​ 

 

Compensation & Benefits 

Our best estimate of the compensation range for this opportunity is $70 - 75K annually, depending on the experience you bring. This role is not eligible for overtime pay.
