About the Role
The Data Centre Delivery Manager’s role is responsible for the management and coordination of customer operational activity through all NZ and AU Data Centres. Working with customers to provide solutions and build project plans is a fundamental part of the role along with the scheduling of work to be undertaken at the Data Centres by the Operations Team. The Data Centre Delivery Manager must plan, procure and make available all resources for the on-site operations team to undertake customer operational work including, installations, decommissions and cabling work.

About you
Knowledge

  • Ability to troubleshoot a wide array of technical issues.
  • Understands and can implement best practice Rack design including; hot/cold aisle, efficient layout and Rack Cabling.
  • Has proficient knowledge of systems and hardware that will aid in the monitoring and evaluation of tasks.
  • Has advanced knowledge of Data cabling infrastructure and its application within a Data Centre Understanding of Health and Safety compliance.

Experience

  • Proven experience in managing the delivery of a project to completion, working with stakeholders and teams to deliver the agreed outcomes.
  • Creating and understanding the fundamentals of rack design. Trouble shooting customer issues. Coordinating third party contractors.
  • Conflict and emergency management.
  • Extensive experience in providing operational efficiencies including operational process creation and reviews.

Skills

  • Ability to work on multiple issues/requests where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.
  • Establishes and assures adherence to budgets, schedules, work plans, and performance requirements Clear and effective communicator, both written and verbal, with an ability to convey technical information concerning specific projects or schedules.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills. Outstanding organisational and timemanagement skills.
  • Strong customer service focus with the ability to empathise as well as prioritise customer’s needs. Adaptable, flexible and willing to embrace change.
  • Professionalism and maturity, Ability to work well independently or in a team environment.
  • Conflict resolution skills.

 

Role and Responsibilities

  • Managing all aspects of customer projects within the Data Centre during both the on boarding of new customers and changes to existing customer environments to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Ownership of the physical onboarding of new and existing customers including liaising with customers and other departments to ensure a seamless onboarding process.
  • Communication progress updates, liaising with customers to understand their requirements and expected deliverables and acting as a point of escalation for customers during projects.
  • Managing resources to deliver customer projects and tasks. Managing and planning the end-to-end implementation of customer requests including; quoting, PO creation, procuring, approval and access, rack design, installation of circuits and equipment, removal of equipment and managing resource availability.
  • Ensuring all customer work is managed as outlined in the Data Centre Change Process.
  • Managing Data Centre internal projects to ensure they are completed on time, in budget and to stakeholder satisfaction. Ensuring consistency of standards, processes and methods of communication are consistent across Data Centres, including recommending or creating standards as required.
  • Adhering to security policies and procedures including incident reporting and attending information security management trainings as required.
