By focusing on inspiring content, price transparency, musician-focused e-commerce tools, a music-savvy customer service team, and more, Reverb has created an online destination where the global music community can connect over the perfect piece of music gear.

We love working at Reverb because we’re making the world more musical—through our marketplace and through Reverb Gives, which provides musical instruments to youth music education programs. We were named a “Best Place to Work” by Built in Chicago and a “Top Workplace'' by the Chicago Tribune.

As a Senior Marketing Data Scientist, you’ll help drive success of marketing efforts by providing meaningful insights, sophisticated measurement techniques and access to the metrics, data, and tooling needed to make critical decisions and optimize our marketing strategy. Our ideal candidate has a passion for analytics and marketing, and is driven by curiosity - consistently striving to understand more about our customers. In this role, you will partner closely with our in-house marketing team and key vendor partners to analyze the performance of marketing channels and campaigns by creating testing frameworks and reliable reporting, and delivering key insights and analysis. • Design and analyze rigorous experiments using sound statistical techniques, and deliver clear actionable insights based on your analysis.

  • Build self-service dashboards and other reporting to empower marketing partners to perform repeatable analyses themselves.

  • Drive forward strategy for performance marketing partners by transforming raw data into meaningful and impactful analyses characterized by strong data governance, technique clarity, and clear documentation.

Skills/Experience required:
  • You have proven experience as a data scientist or data analyst (preferably with ecommerce, B2C, ad agency, or marketplace experience).

  • You should have experience measuring performance/growth marketing efforts and a strong grasp of marketing practices related to direct response, paid search, and paid social campaigns. Experience using marketing analytics tools including Google Analytics, Amplitude, Braze, or similar preferred.

  • You have mastery of SQL, expertise building actionable reporting using BI tools (Looker, Tableau), and some experience in R/Python or other scripting/automation techniques.

  • You have deep experience using advanced statistical methods to measure the incremental impact of marketing activities and are an expert in sophisticated analytical techniques (ex. Propensity Score Matching, Causal Impact, Regression Models).
