Job description

Overview:

Milton CAT is looking for an experienced Allied Sales Representative.  This position is unique within Milton CAT in that it primarily deals with supporting internal and external customers with parts found outside the Caterpillar system.  This position is responsible for utilizing our existing suppliers as well as developing new sources that can meet our customer’s requirements when appropriate. 

 

Pay Rate:  $25.00 - $28.00 per hour.  This position is eligible for yearly bonuses. 

 

Note: We are hiring for 1 open position and have advertised in multiple locations.

 

This position has the potential to be a hybrid or remote position after initial training period and the person can be located anywhere within our territory. 

Responsibilities:
  • Greet all customers and answer phones in a polite and timely fashion.
  • Enhance and grow existing customer relationships by promoting Milton CAT as viable solutions provider of all Allied parts.
  • Enhance and grow existing supplier relationships by promoting Milton CAT as a reliable and trustworthy source to do business with.
  • Assist internal and external customers in the procurement and sale of all Allied parts.
  • Resolve internal and external customer disputes in a timely, proficient and professional manner.
  • When requested, develop and provide quotes.
  • Process customer, counter and shop orders.
  • Effectively communicate order status when appropriate.
  • Maintain a high standard of ethics, abiding by all company policies.
  • Performs all other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and ability required.

  • College or Vocation degree is desired.
  • Previous experience in a sales/selling environment.
  • Detail oriented with a high level of accuracy.
  • Experience with procurement of parts and distribution.
  • Experience with competitive equipment and undercarriage as well as, knowledge of all types of work tools.
  • Proficient in the use of a computer and related Microsoft software, including CRM.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong problem solving skills and be detailed oriented with a high level of accuracy.
  • Perform duties with a sense of urgency, exceeding customer expectations.
  • Work with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to work after hours when needed to meet customer needs.
  • Ability to perform duties with a sense of urgency, exceeding customer expectations.
  • Work in a dynamic, fast paced environment.
  • Attend training meetings, which may require overnight stays.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Valid driver’s license and good driving record.

Preferred Skills and Competencies

  • Heavy equipment knowledge with a focus on repair parts.
  • Knowledge of CAT parts and the CAT dealer network.
  • Strong work ethic and commitment to excellence.
  • Prior industry experience.
  • Past experience in automotive industry a plus.
  • Basic mechanical ability a plus.
