Head of Design

Your Purpose 

As the Head of Design at Bitso, you will be responsible for leading and shaping the design vision and strategy across our product lines. This role requires a seasoned design leader with a strong track record of creating user-centered design solutions in fast-paced, high-growth environments.

You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product management, engineering, marketing, and executive leadership, to drive the overall user experience and ensure our products are not only functional but also delightful and engaging.

Who You Are 

• 10+ years of experience in design, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
• Proven track record of leading design teams in high-growth tech companies, preferably in fintech, crypto, or related industries.
• Strong portfolio showcasing successful design leadership and user-centered design solutions.
• Deep understanding of UX/UI design principles, user research methodologies, and design systems.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Ability to think strategically while being detail-oriented and hands-on when necessary.
• Strong business acumen with the ability to align design initiatives with business objectives.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field

Key Responsibilities:

1. Design Leadership:

• Define and drive the overall design vision, strategy, and execution across all Bitso products and platforms.
• Lead, mentor, and grow a diverse team of designers, including UX/UI designers, researchers and content designers.
• Foster a culture of innovation, creativity, and user-centricity within and outside the design team.

• Work closely with product, engineering, and marketing teams to ensure design aligns with business objectives and user needs.
• Act as a key partner to the executive team, providing insights and recommendations on design trends, opportunities, and challenges.
• Advocate for design thinking and user experience best practices across the organization.

• Oversee the design process from concept to delivery, ensuring high-quality, consistent, and cohesive user experiences across all touchpoints.
• Drive user research and usability testing to inform design decisions and iterate on product designs.
• Ensure that Bitso’s design language and brand identity are consistently applied and evolve to meet user needs and market demands.

• Contribute to the company’s strategic planning process by identifying design opportunities that align with business goals.
• Develop and manage design budgets, resources, and timelines, ensuring the team can deliver impactful results.

• Stay up-to-date with the latest design, technology, and cryptocurrency industry trends, and apply this knowledge to keep Bitso at the forefront of innovation.
• Explore and implement new tools, technologies, and methodologies to enhance the design team’s efficiency and effectiveness.
