*offered on a 12 month contract basis initially, with possibility of extension / move to permanent contract, subject to local terms.

Location: The successful candidate may be based in a country where one of the independent National/Regional Greenpeace organisations (NRO’s) is located. See the locations here. [Please note that we are currently unable to host new staff in a number of NRO's at this present time, due to various restrictions. We are unable to support hosting in Africa, Colombia, Belgium, Germany, Italy, Spain, India, US, UK, MED, and MENA in addition to some other NRO locations. Greenpeace International is looking for a dynamic and strategic Head of Data to lead the development and implementation of a global data strategy that will drive Greenpeace’s ability to engage with the public, deliver high-impact campaigns, and ensure data-informed decision-making across the organisation. The Technology Department delivers technology and data solutions to enable the Greenpeace network to win campaigns faster and support an efficient global organisation. In this role, you will ensure that Greenpeace’s data and technology reflect our values and our mission for a green and peaceful future.

In this role you will:

  • Lead data strategy development and implementation across Greenpeace International, ensuring that data and analytics are integrated into every aspect of the organisation's work.

  • Oversee the development of a global data strategy, maximizing the impact of multi-million euro investments through data-driven decision-making.

  • Lead the creation of data architecture within a federated framework and ensure alignment with Greenpeace’s strategic objectives.

  • Manage and develop the data & analytics team, fostering a high-performing culture of collaboration, accountability, and innovation.

  • Oversee the lifecycle management of data systems, ensuring their continued relevance and effectiveness.

  • Ensure robust data governance practices, maintaining policy adherence and risk management across the Greenpeace network.

  • Collaborate with senior stakeholders at Greenpeace International and National/Regional organisations to ensure alignment of data strategies.
