Job description

Advanced Agrilytics is seeking a talented and motivated Staff Software Engineer to join our Engineering team. You will work closely with the team to develop, refine, and implement solutions that scale and perform at the highest level. Your role will be critical in mentoring team members, influencing architecture, and contributing to key projects across the organization. How you will help us grow:

Architecture & Development: Partner with the technical lead to contribute to the design and architecture of key systems. Write, test, and review high-quality code, ensuring best practices are followed

Mentorship: Guide and mentor mid-level engineers, helping them to grow and develop their technical skills

Collaboration: Work closely with engineers, product managers, and designers to deliver high-quality features and ensure alignment with the company’s technical and business goals

Problem-Solving: Take ownership of complex issues within the codebase, offering solutions and improvements that impact long-term system performance and scalability

Continuous Improvement: Advocate for improvements in code quality, testing, and engineering processes. Contribute to and help enforce high engineering standards across the team

Learning & Innovation: Stay current on industry trends, technologies, and best practices. Contribute innovative ideas that improve our product and engineering processes

Experience you bring:

Experience: 8+ years of professional software engineering experience

Technical Expertise:

Strong experience with Node.js and React, along with deep knowledge of modern JavaScript (ES6+)

Experience with spatial data and GIS technologies (e.g., mapping, geospatial analysis, location-based services)

Proficiency in other programming languages, such as Python, is preferred

Experience in designing scalable, distributed systems is essential

Cloud-Native Expertise: Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS), microservices, and container orchestration technologies (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker)

Collaboration: Proven ability to work in a collaborative, team-driven environment and partner with cross-functional teams

Mentorship: Passionate about your craft, with the desire to share knowledge and strengthen your team

Problem-Solving: Adept at troubleshooting and optimizing code for performance, scalability, and resilience
