Description

American Elevator Group (AEG) is the largest independent elevator service company in North America, consisting of a collection of well-established elevator service companies operating across the United States. Backed by Arcline Investment Management, AEG has a significant footprint in the elevator industry and is rapidly growing.  We are looking for a Regional Controller to support our Mid-Atlantic region consisting of multiple business units throughout Pennsylvania, primarily including West Chester, PA, Windber, PA, and Harrisburg, PA.

 

Reporting to the Regional Vice President, this role is responsible for overseeing financial operations, ensuring compliance, and driving strategic financial planning across multiple business units within the designated region. This role requires a deep understanding of the elevator industry, including project-based revenue recognition, service contract accounting, and capital expenditures. The Regional Controller will partner with operational leaders to ensure the profitability and financial health of the region.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Lead financial operations for the region, including billing, collection, cash application, bank reconciliation, payroll, accounts payable, budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and reporting.
  • Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes, ensuring accuracy and adherence to corporate deadlines.
  • Provide detailed analysis of financial performance, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate financial policies, industry regulations, and GAAP standards.
  • Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure accurate reporting.
  • Manage audits and work with internal/external auditors to address findings.
  • Collaborate with business unit leaders and regional operations leaders to drive financial performance.
  • Provide financial insights and recommendations to support decision-making for service contracts, modernization projects, and new equipment installations.
  • Monitor project profitability and assess cost efficiency of operations.
  • Supervise and develop regional finance staff, including accountants and analysts.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and collaboration within the finance team.
  • Support mergers, acquisitions, or new branch openings in the region, ensuring smooth financial integration.
  • Drive process improvements to enhance reporting accuracy and operational efficiency.
  • Partner with the executive team to develop and execute regional growth strategies.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Work Environment & Hazards:

  • This is a hybrid position which is blended between working remotely and visiting various locations within the designated region. This position requires the ability to travel up to 30% of the time, as needed.
     

Special Physical Demands:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. Master's of Business Administration degree strongly preferred.
  • A minimum of 7 years of progressive Accounting/Finance experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of project accounting, revenue recognition, and cost control practices.
  • Experience managing multi-site operations is highly desirable.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, analytical, and communication skills (written, verbal and presentation).
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., Business Central, SAP, Oracle) and financial modeling tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to interact with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to align Finance initiatives with organizational goals.
  • High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism.
