Lead Solution Architect

This is an internal remote role based anywhere within one of our European countries of operation. You must be a permanent resident of that country and have the right to work in that country.

The Department

The Technical Solutions Directorate is part of the Group Technology function, and covers a number of technology disciplines including Architecture, Business Analysis, Test and DevOps. Its purpose is to ensure that all our technology solutions are fit-for-purpose, aligned to strategy, and land right first time in delivery.

The Role

The Lead Solution Architect role is a key role within the Autovista Technical Solutions team, and will play a crucial part in leading the Solution Architecture function, shaping and delivering strategic technical solutions within the organisation. The role-holder will lead and manage a small team of Solution Architects, work closely with Enterprise Architecture, and will play a key role in ensuring that Solution Architecture is joined-up, productive and reliable in delivering strategically-aligned solutions to meet the demands of a challenging change portfolio to support the Autovista business.

This vacancy has been raised due to the impending retirement of the existing role-holder. This is a great opportunity for the right candidate to play a really influential role at an exciting time where they can become pivotal to helping shape the technology future of Autovista.

The Candidate

You will be an experienced Solution Architect, with line management experience, and a clear grasp of what it takes to make Solution Architecture work as a function in an organisation. As well as working as a Solution Architect on our biggest deliveries, you’ll help to shape the team, its resource planning and its operating model, demonstrating a deep understanding of Architecture both in your project work and in helping the Solution Architecture team perform at their best.

You will be the first point of contact for Solution Architecture in Autovista, reporting to the Group Technical Solutions Director, and will be a member of the Technical Solutions leadership team; you will be the escalation point for challenges in order to support your team and will work closely with Enterprise Architecture to ensure that a joined-up view of strategic long-term goals is fed into the Solution Architecture function.

You will be able to demonstrate a strong technical background, with hands-on technical experience that supports your credibility and your ability to deliver high-quality solution designs on projects and programmes, and will act as a key strategic decision-maker to give clear direction and support to move projects forwards. You will balance your technical excellence with a strong sense of pragmatism that drives project deliveries, always being aware of timescales and budgets for projects and the need to keep change delivery on track. You will work closely with business stakeholders and build strong relationships that ensure Architecture is seen as a valuable partner in delivering the solutions they need.
