Job description

This is a full-time Monday – Friday position on a team of five assigned to one of our large clients based in Minnesota.  The role is currently work from home, but may include a hybrid model at some point in the future.

Invoicing clerks perform various activities to support the accounts payable (AP) team payment of bills/invoices from suppliers.  Self-motivated people who like numbers and have an eye for detail will thrive in this role. Invoicing clerks perform daily invoicing functions within the department.  The primary function is matching Vendor Invoices to specific Purchase Orders and resolve errors and conflicts.  This includes researching and fixing billing errors.  You will also prepare reports, and file records.

Invoicing clerks should be self-motivated and diligent with strong organization skills.  The following skills are essential to getting the job done:
  • Accounting – work with numbers on a frequent basis
  • PO generation – generating purchase orders, invoices, and other financial documents
  • Communication skills – communicate with vendors, clients, and other staff to resolve billing inaccuracies, so they need excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Math skills – making quick and accurate math calculations is essential for job success
  • Customer service – need the ability to interface with customers in a clear and pleasant way
  • Data entry –perform data entry using computer software
  • Administrative skills – general administrative and clerical work
  • Organization skills –must be excellent multitaskers who are able to prioritize and execute many assignments in quick and efficient manner

Required Skills:

 
  • Must be available Monday through Friday during regular business hours
  • Intermediate to strong skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) especially Excel.
  • Good oral and written communications skills
  • Professional, positive, can-do approach 
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills 
  • Reliable and dependable 
  • Must be a self-starter, team player and have the maturity and flexibility to both follow instructions and work independently 
     
Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or the equivalent and some accounting/finance college courses.  
2+ year of general office and accounting/finance experience.
• History/ experience with Billing/Accounting or Finance
• Strong work ethic
• Preference given to candidates with a 2 or 4 year degree
