An exciting opportunity has become available for an Indirect Tax  Manager to join the Nutreco Group Tax Team at our Corporate Head Office in Amersfoort. In this high-impact role, you will be responsible for global indirect tax matters with a focus on improvement and automation of the global VAT compliance processes. Your expertise and proactive approach will play a critical role in ensuring Nutreco’s tax compliance.

Success in this position requires your ability to build strong relationships and bridge the gap between government regulations and operational practices. You will be recognized as an advisor who not only provides insights but also implements effective solutions and optimizes processes. Collaboration with global finance departments/sales and purchase departments will be crucial in managing indirect tax obligations, enhancing efficiency, and reducing tax risks. You will lead automation projects in complex tax processes with the IT department. Your efforts will improve financial performance and operational excellence. 


About The Role: 
Responsibilities: 

  • Configure, implement, maintain and improve VAT automation solutions.
  • Ensure proper VAT handling in our ERP system and improve the quality of reporting and information.
  • Identify opportunities for streamlining and improving indirect tax processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Support finance departments globally in fulfilling their indirect tax compliance obligations effectively in daily operations. 
  • Support the order-entry departments (sales and procurement) to ensure correct VAT registration of orders in the system.
  • Identify and implement internal control improvements.
  • Design, provide and maintain training documentation for users in new functionalities and processes.
  • Support with implementation of e-invoicing in various jurisdictions.
  • Provide guidance on new trading flows, including VAT treatment, consequences, and determination. Address ad hoc VAT inquiries from the business as needed.

Qualifications:  

  • Master’s degree in (Indirect) Taxation  and / or Business Economics. 
  • At least 8 years of experience in national and international indirect tax environments. 
  • A strong understanding of global indirect tax regulations and reporting requirements.
  • Proven experience in process automation and indirect tax technology.
  • Fluency in Dutch and English.
  • Some travel will be part of the position.
