About this Role
This role involves meticulous quality control (QC) of slides images, ensuring adherence to established protocols, and maintaining rigorous documentation. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in laboratory practices, a keen eye for detail, and a commitment to upholding quality standards.
Responsibilities:
- Follow all procedures for the inspection of slide images for quality as instructed to.
- Follow procedures for labeling of slide images.
- Inspect all images as per instruction/procedure for quality (not limited to focus and tissue completeness) and be able to flag any images of concern during reviews.
- Work closely with laboratory staff to communicate quality standards or any slides that require rescanning and address any concerns.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of quality control checks.
- Understand and apply the principles of Good Laboratory Practice in all QC activities.
- Ensure non-GLP projects also adhere to high standards of quality and accuracy.
- Alert supervisors and rest of the team if there are any technical issues during review.
- Give feedback on any tools used for quality assessment to the technical team as required.
- Training required for the role, may include ISMS, GLP, DocuSign and GDPR awareness.
Required Skills and Experience:
- An Associates degree in a life science subject is desirable but not required.
- Basic IT troubleshooting experience a distinct advantage
- Experience in diagnostic laboratory or closely related industry (Anatomical Pathology, Pharma, Medical Device, IVD etc. desired but not necessary.
- Experience with digital pathology is an advantage
- Experience working with an electronic documentation system is highly desirable.
- Experience with using Microsoft Excel or Google sheets an advantage
- Experience with a recognised quality guidance or standard such as CLIA, CAP, GxP/GLP, ISO 13485 and/or ISO 9001 is an advantage.
Desirable Skills and Experience
- Experience with GLP regulations or software will be ‘a distinct advantage’
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify subtle defects in slide quality.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to maintain precise records.
